I'm really bored today, there has been nothing to do. As of now it is 1:27 AM and I will go to sleep after three more posts tonight at ATS, but this forum has been very boring to me. Over 35 topics which I've posted out of 75 topics that I've posted in total I have been the last poster in the topics. Not only am I ignored, but I also have gotten very little feedback on many of my posts and I really am starting to dislike this site for the very fact that people have ignored the posts which I've created. Also, let's take a look at the reason why many of my posts have been ignored- perhaps because my name was shown in the end of each of those topics? Don't even get me started on how people can act like complete and total condisentent (sp?) jerks on these forums sometimes.

There are many times in which that has happened, I havent gotten a single U2U since I joined. Then, not only have people been against me there have hardly been any cases in which I've posted my feelings about a particular subject like when they asked "What would you do if the US re-instated the draft today" when I said "I would move to canada", the whole thread, about 10 pages of it got ignored. In addition, people are very unhelpful in these forums unless you don't take the time to send them a U2U, as they are lazy. If you look at the Seti@home board you will notice that I have posted asking what the SETI does, and was wondering if the SETI at that website was indeed the SETI which I've heard throughout the news on a radio. Here is a list of the threads that I've posted in and the people who're the last posters.

Obviously people seem to be forgetting the very motto of the way www.abovetopsecret.com which is "Deny Ignorance." I posted a constructive topic about the Omega Agency, when I just joined, and it has about 100 views on it, yet not a single person responded.

Let me bring back what I said about how people were acting condesending (sp?) This one user criticized my topic when I asked for help on my essay, and then when I just merely stopped posting in the topic he said something along the lines of calling George W. Bush JR a bastard, because then it would get more replies. The next thing he did, was posting on my topic when I said "Are my posts ignored for a reason", he also said why didn't you just say "I'm only looking for positive criticism in my topic, and I will ignore all help" then he was relating to me later on in one of his topics.

I need to get off since I am going to bed, but I am a frequent poster in ATS, and I deserve to get the credit in which I deserve. From my knoweledge of trolls, the people who don't respond in the topics are probably the people who just label it as a pointless topic or for that matter, a topic that isn't relevent even when I'm posting facts about the subject at hand, with conclusive evidence which would falsify what the original topic poster said.

This concludes my little rant here and I will now go to bed, does anyone else hate it when this happens to them?

No worries bud. You'll probably feel like til you've been around a while.

But if you really believe what you say, then stick to your guns and get your voice out. Screw how people respond.

You made 132 post..Not a bad number for a new person.
You can't expect responses to everything. And the longer you are here
The more familiar you will seem to others, thats when dialogs within threads begin.

Don't sweat it, keep posting..Try fewer posts, with greater thought per post..

I agree with KrazyJethro and spacedoubt on this one. You'd be surprised how many members feel the same way you do at times - even starting threads saying so.

Keep posting. It'll pick up. Trust me.

I used to feel the same way. I was afraid that I had the words "Thread Killer" stamped on my forehead. Keep posting your thoughts, and you'll get feedback on it eventually.

I never could figure out why some threads get lots of response and others don't. Funny example. I can post a news article about deaths in Sudan, and get no response. Valhall submits an Global Security Report several times a week that probably takes her at least half an hour to research an compose. 95% of the time she gets no response, yet a news article about a Platypus having extra genes gets comments out the yin-yang. Go figure?

I'm the same. The one thing that bugged me the most was when I started a joke thread. It was based on the www.chickenjoke.com site.

NO ONE REPLIED!

Then two days later someone made the EXACT same thread and got over 12 replies.

I just couldn't understand why my thread was first and died, then this exact same thread started a few days later florished.

No hard feelings though.

I've noticed that w/in the extremely short amount of time that I've been here. Especially what dbates had to say. platypus thread...lol
I thought I was the only one who felt this way!!
Well, I guess I'm not so unique...In the meantime, I'll still try to find the stories that interest me that MAY interest others and have a go at it.

hang in there....

I felt the same way when I was new... I just kept right on reading the posts and thinking about my response before replying and before I knew it, there I was engaged in a good debate or just general conversation with the finest members of ATS...

Keep on making good quality posts and you'll be fine..

as far as u2u's, I still don't get them unless its a mass one from the staff or a correction request on a news article... that's okay though. I'd rather be out reading threads..

good luck.
