hi,
cruising the web i stumbled on this catch someone had made
i truly don't have much background as to if this is alarming or not or how big it could be
i hope someone with some expertise drops in here
there's alot of blackness going on the dec 4th image (from soho itself)

While I'm not an scientist or an brain surgeon, I do have an idea. It's that this is not even that big looking.

I could be wrong, it's known to occur.

I think we'll be ok. As drastic as that sounds.

It just looks wrong. I hope it's a glitch.

Thanks for posting and hope someone can shed some light on this...

Seems perfectly normal to me....

Just a small flare, but other than that it looks normal. What has you concerned?

video below captures it
weird if one watches the running time on this video
it could just be an anomaly or glitch
running time stamp on video is strange

From a scientific standpoint I have no clue how to interpret the data, but from looking at it I agree that it looks like there i a significant change.

However, I find the video you linked a bit suspicious. I would have expected to see a gradual transition from one state to the other, but it seems like it changes exaltedly at midnight between the 3rd and the 4th, and I doesn't seem natural if you ask me.

So, I would say, either something is very wrong with the sun, and this coincidentally happened at midnight from the viewers perspective.... it's a glitch as you pointed out... OR.. someone has tampered with the footage - which I am currently finding to be more likely.

yea the tranisition that occurs at midnight is very suspicious
also the black line that heads from the sun to the 1-2 o'clock position seems to have a hell of a lot of activity compared to the rest of area around it.

So no one noticed the two trails coming off the sphere at around the 1:30 position?

Yeah, and I thought that was a 'blank' space in recording due to the arm of the camera. It's always been void. Why does it seem to change, then?

SOHO wiped their last EIT movies from the past two days on the third and fourth image[s]. The LASCO movies transition, so it seems, more quickly, as well.

The Sun, I think is a sentient being like us.So if you take that line of thinking then it must go through internal and external changes as we do.Not to mention us and other meddlesome creatures just can't help tinkering with things we shouldn't at least until we know what we're doing and/or the short and long term effects.

On another note.I wonder if those "Artifacts" seen in a lot of soho images are "Star Wranglers" managing stars who have life in their immediate vicinity so they don't randomly kill off everything.Just a thought.
