By Professor Robert S. Robins and Dr. Jerrold Post M.D. the book details paranoia and conspiracy as an underlying theme in political life.

My questions to ATS, has anyone read this book and is it any good?

It has decent reviews on Amazon, but I'd like to hear from our community on the subject since I believe we're specialists in the area of politics, paranoia and conspiracy.

Amazon: www.amazon.com...

I think it's obvious why I'm interested in this book, especially now that the elections are over and the truly unhinged members of the republican party are going, how do I say this... crazy.

For my own education I'd like to understand the mindset of someone who is hell-bent on rejecting reality in favor of fantasy all the while peddling in fear. I see friends on social media, here on ATS too saying the most patently absurd stuff about Obama that they must be suffering from some illness - I think that's true, but I'd like opinions on the book if anyone has read it.

Thanks.

Sorry, haven't read the book, but it's pretty obvious that everyone in politics is paranoid because they're surrounded by liars, cheats and backstabbers.

If you want to understand "reality", find some psychology books on how and why people handle money and power the way that they do, including our government (it's no different).

As for the "hatred" part, well, that's already been spelled out in the Bible. It follows all those other verses about what happens to people who are lovers of money, power and self before all others.

I haven't read it, but here is a link I found that has a least part of the book, maybe all of it, not sure. It seems to be a university site, so does not seem to be copyright infringement:
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov...

Here is a link to another book on the topic, Political Ponerology. ponerology.com...

And a wikipedia description: en.wikipedia.org...

Definitely an interesting and relevant topic, thanks for posting. As my signature says:

"Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we are being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's whats insane about it. "
