Anyone install Linux Mint Maya on their computer?

Go into your hard drive and look for folder "proc". Scroll down to a file called "kcore".

Look at its properties. Interesting isn't it? Why is that file so big?

It's why that version of Linux lags, what is going on inside that version of Linux???

Complete failure of the code that was written or is there something to be worried about going on there?

Nothing to worry about. It's normal and should be there, it represents the entire virtual address space for your system. It can be used for debugging the kernel while it is running.

It's a virtual file, In fact, everything in /proc is a virtual file. They don't physically exist on your disk.

On my debian wheezy desktop, running

# ls -lh /proc/kcore

...shows that it is 128TB in size (i only have a 280GB disk).

128TB is the limit for total virtual RAM on x86_64 machines, which is why it shows up as that size for me.

Its normal
