So what happens when they find someone who isn't being energy efficient? Are they going to fine them or what?

This is what creates a tyranny. The making of a revenue scheme and forcing people to obey it.

All for their own good of course.

Bah.

And since you don't live in our country and it really doesn't affect you...why would you insult us??

Look up the Smart Grid owned by GE.

I might use one of those pics for my avatar if you don't mind.

People today need to be taught the past because our public schools today did not teach these things.

I would say since it is in the schools right now, they will use other methods of "discipline".

Detention for leaving the lights on....bullying and ridicule if you are a "waster".

The whole thing stinks to the stinky high heaven.

This has all been done before...2 generations and it is like it never happened.

I guess no one's ever heard of hall monitors before?
Look, there's plenty of things to be worried or scared about with America right now... I just don't think energy monitors is one of them, in fact I think it's a pretty silly thing to worry about. If we want to talk indoctrination, why not talk about the right wing indoctrination against evidence that global warming is caused by humanity?

Even off of conspiracy sites, you can't say the word environmental without getting some knee jerk, spasmatic, convulsive reaction from a 'conservative'.

How does being a hall monitor or have free periods, or rat out other people help those kids to become successful productive members of society?

Don't see how it prepares them for real life.

I have never heard anyone express concern in my entire life over hall monitors, this isn't one bit different. Why is it just suddenly an issue for kids to engage in this type of activity? Because it involves energy conservation (booga booga), that's why.

The left is fine with indoctrination as long as it's being done to advance an agenda they agree with.

Well in real life we have things called laws. And by teaching kids to follow the rules of the school which are the laws of the school you don't get into trouble if you don't break them. This puts the idea into the kids head that if I don't break laws then I won't have to worry about the cops busting my head open.

(I searched the term 'energy patrol' and other things with no hits. I hope I didn't miss anything)

Is this taking things too far?

EPA Celebrates ‘Children Health Month,’ Encourages Recruiting Students for ‘Energy Patrols’ at School

On the website page is a link to a 26-page EPA report entitled, “Sensible Steps to Healthier School Environment.” In the report’s chapter on Energy Efficiency, the EPA presents a box with items to help establish “Energy Efficiency Opportunities for Schools.”

One of the items in the box reads, “Educate students and staff about how their behaviors affect energy use. Some schools have created student energy patrols to monitor and inform others when energy is wasted.”

Okay, that almost sounds like it might not be offensive right? We've all been conditioned to accept the climate agenda being driven home several times a year in the schools. Why not a bit more? Oh but hold on, thats not all!

The APS website says that patrol members can be provided with ID tags, vests and clipboards. Their responsibilities include leaving reminders to better conserve energy in rooms they find that have the lights on but are unoccupied.

In Alabama schools, the energy patrols are described as groups of 10 to 20 students who are tasked with monitoring the school’s energy use.
Source

Are they joking? This sounds like a whole lot more like indoctrination than education. Personally, I've about had it with the Federal Government meddling into the local level of schooling in every single community across the nation. Tags?? Clipboards?? Vests?? To leave the equivalent of "energy demerits" or "write-ups" as they go along? Ahh.. what is there to have a problem with?

Anyone else think this is going a bit far in pushing the whole authority and politics by force concept?

Geez, kind of like Hitler Youth, 0bama youth and so on.
Here comes the Nazi like state to American.

i certainly don't mind i found them rather quickly on the net, lots more to choose from tho, even some shots of old wwII posters for the hitler youth.

People today need to be taught the past because our public schools today did not teach these things.

very true, even tho we covered wwII in history quite a lot was left out including the whole of the war in the pacific due to Canada having little involvement in it. all it did was give me an interest in the war which coupled with my passion for reading and information, drove me to explore the war more in depth, it was the fact that both my grandfathers were involved in the pacific war (both US army), that led me to also study the pacific theater as well as the European theater of the war. i am sure that i was pretty much alone in my quest for more information. sure the war was covered in school but little about what the realities were especially for those who were in Germany. instead it focused on the bigger battles and the evil of Germany as a whole. it would have been better to focus more on the causes for the war and the realities of the general populations involved, before, during and after the war. things like the hitler youth for one thing and how even parents had to watch how they behaved in front of their own kids that were indoctrinated into telling any possible misdeeds by their own family and anyone they came into contact with.

you know it is amazing that as i typed this how much of the worlds currant issues are similar in some ways to those of that time. how yet again we seem to have failed to learn from history and as that old adage claims are seemingly repeating it in a lot of ways. :shk: will we ever truly learn from the mistakes of the past? or are we doomed to just keep repeating mistakes for the rest of history? or is it that maybe SOME have learned from history and using it to their own advantage? now THAT is one rather SCARY THOUGHT!

Of course we need to conserve energy and be responsible toward our environment etc. However, this has a creepy vibe to me. It looks like conditioning to me. Let's also remember that the Rockefellers, with a little help from the Carnegies, took over the entire educational system of the United States in 1903.

Great point on this and really to the heart of my misgivings as well. One mention is made about Hall Monitors, but there just isn't a comparison in my mind. The Hall Monitors when I went to school were kinda the teacher's pet kind to begin with and just watched and nagged people on running or whatever. Minor stuff and the typical "don't run with scissors" type of thinking with a student helper.

This....has a whole different feel. The suggestion isn't someone standing around to watch for kids running who could be hurt but to, at a minimum, be watchful for and LOOK for...if not actively seek out (We'd call that investigate in other circumstances) evil energy wasters.

I mean it all sounds almost humorous and like a Disney game similar to what they DO in the parks now but the meanings and purpose being taught and learned among kids of that age group is what I can't somehow remove from the situation.

Saving Energy is common sense. Chasing energy wasters as a specific task and job is a political movement. This is the distinction I am sure the kids are never even hearing as a concept.

So you want there to be law that tells you how much electric you can use?

Teaching kids to be snitches does not teach them how to follow laws.

Yes...good point....some learn things from history to use for their agenda, one of which is to hide that history from those they are trying control.

My grandfathers also fraught in WWII. Army and Navy. It was their honor to do it...it was a thing of pride.

I was surprised to see the amount of people especially on this site that think Russia and Germany were never bad guys. That the cold war wasn't real. Really shocking, that's why people think socialism and communism are a good thing.

The Rockefellers are true evil in my book. Here's a quote from David R. On the manipulation of the public through their controlled media to further their agenda........takeover by the rich and the bankers....it's working very well:

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost 40 years....

..It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years

. But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government.

The supernational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries
