Iran today declared its preemptive rejection of any proposal made to them stipulating that they stop their Uranium enrichment activity. Iran says that the enrichment is for peaceful fuel provision and it will only consider proposals that acknowledge this and allow them to continue enrichment in line with NPF treaties.

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran says it will reject any proposal to halt uranium enrichment, a step European Union diplomats are proposing to end a row over whether Iran is seeking atomic weapons.

EU diplomats have said they are seeking U.S. and Russian support for a deal that would ask Iran to give up uranium enrichment in return for technical and economic assistance.

"Any proposal which deprives Iran of its legitimate right to a fuel cycle is not acceptable," Hossein Mousavian, Iran"s head of foreign policy on the Supreme National Security Council, told state television on Saturday.

It is indeed Iran's right to process Uranium in association with its nuclear energy infrastructure, but this enriched Uranium can also be used as part of a nuclear weapons program.

The EU wants to offer Iran "technical and economic assistance" (Reuters) in exchange for abandoning its enrichment activity altogether, with no stipulation allowing for the retainment of peaceful nuclear energy programs.

Well I must say this doesn't look good. Prez Bush has said that " Iran will not have Nuclear weapons." But yet Iran will not suspend it's enrichment program.
This does not look good. Tho should probably wait til November when EUROPE gives Iran its ultimadum(spelling) to move into the bomb shelter

What exactly are the U.S. plans if Iran attacks Isreal? because that scenario seems more and more likely by the damn day.

On a side note: What The F*** is going on in this world today, that everyone HAS to fight? Whatever happened to that saying 'Love thy neighbor' and when did that saying go flying out the window, so to speak?

If/when Israel attacks Iran, the US will obviously come to bat for Israel and help them to defeat Iran. Bush is a hard-liner, and he's said Iran will not have nuclear weapons, therefore Iran will not have nuclear weapons.

And these days, it isn't "Love your neighbor", it's "Love your neighbor as long as they aren't a rogue nation with nuclear weapons".
