HOUSTON — A warp drive to achieve faster-than-light travel — a concept popularized in television's Star Trek — may not be as unrealistic as once thought, scientists say.


I remember reading sometime before that it may in theory be possible to produce a warp drive. But it need a lot of energy. It seems that this is no longer the case and that it can now be down with a lot less energy.


Now physicists say that adjustments can be made to the proposed warp drive that would enable it to run on significantly less energy, potentially bringing the idea back from the realm of science fiction into science.


Give it a hundred years or so and if we are still here as a species we will probably be gone into space or living back in a stone age...
