Can anyone shed any light on what this aircraft may be doing?

Sounds like a big turboprop to me. You said it is a slow moving jet. Could be being used for a variety of things.

We do not know the circumstances so we should not review.Maybe one of the rescue plane or a private plane in a commemoration.

IMO it's a Mail plane?. What tells me this is flies at the same time every night, and mail planes usually fly at night at the same time give or take a minute or two. I get the same down in Newbury Berkshire, and you can tell a mail, plane they usually are a low powered jet, or a Turbo prop plane with a Thrum, Thrum, Thrum of the engines.
The plane that flies down where i live flies at the same time every night apart from Saturday night usually about 11:45 Pm, and at around 1:00 am.

Thanks ferryman, I think this is a likely possibility as well. Probably overnight freight of all those Special Delivery parcels. How else are they going to guarantee every parcel by 1pm next day?
