Earlier this year, a Russian media mogul named Dmitry Itskov formally announced his intention to disembody our conscious minds and upload them to a hologram--an avatar--by 2045. In other words he outlined a plan to achieve immortality, removing the human mind from the physical constraints presented by the biological human body. He was serious. And now, in a letter to the members of the Forbes World’s Billionaire’s List, he’s offering up that immortality to the world’s 1,266 richest people.

Now this is just plain creepy. I did a search and to my surprise, I found nothing. I figured you guys would've been all over this by now.

So basically this guy Dmitry Itskov has put together an organization to change the world called "The 2045 Initiative". He wants to usher in the transhumanism movement and the dude isn't playing around.

I really hope we don't go down this road because once we do there will be no turning back. If we actually do wind up at his ultimate goal, then our kids will be the last generation because I really don't think conscious holograms would be able to reproduce. Think about that before you go jumping on this bandwagon.

Here's a link to the groups site...

I think this has already been posted a little while back. As for the idea, it's an ambitious and seemingly viable one. Technology is an extension of consciousness; tools to employ the expansion of physical & mental possibilities.
Computing technology will eventually allow for humans to place themselves withing digital meta-verses in a way that we currently only dream of.

Naturally it will have downfalls, in terms of ethics and potential abuse by elites; vulnerability, etc. But it's an exciting proposition --- to think someday my conscious could be unbound by time and space. Holographically/virtually projected into a "dimension" with boundless possibilities. We live in an intriguing age my friends!

i have heard that the grey aliens followed a path that was not right, and they advanced themselves to some kind of extent and they were unable to reproduce.. they ultimately killed their species.
but because this happened that is why they came to earth and abductions happened and they were trying to find some kind of way to make their DNA reproductive again..

i dont know.. its just a theory i guess.. but iv read or seen a video somewhere about that.. but when you said if we did this then we would not be able to reproduce.. it made me think about that.. and your right!

if something like this happened it could bring our species to an end!

Could you have read that here by chance?

Personally the whole thought of it creeps me out. I wouldn't want to live in an artificial body forever. I like the one I have now.

The man is insane. That's really all I have to say, in response to this. I'm not scared by it, though. Mental illness is actually fairly banal.

Imagine the implications. The elite would be living forever controlling the world with an iron fist.

I suppose it is if you understand it from a personal perspective considering the number of insane murderers, rapists and child pornographers, I can only applaud either your knowledge or your bravery. Leaning toward the former.

I applaud this idea.

BEcause what they are ignoring is that it is not a true immortality.

For one thing they ned a power source to run the computer. You can not run a computer without electricity.

And of course, the biggest weakness is this:

THE OFF SWITCH>

So of course if they have no way to guard the off switch, somebody can just go in and turn them all off.

VIVE LA REVOLUTION!
VIVE LA RESISTANCE!
DOWN WITH THE BANKERS AND THE SELL OUTS!
