americans have no freedoms thanks to NDAA.That makes USA worse than Iran.

You really ARE delusional aren't you?

GO LIVE IN IRAN. I DARE YOU. Then come and try speak the same words. You guys are lunatics, plain and simple.

and USA doesn't have secret prisons? What evidence do you have for iranian secret prison. Please give primary evidence.

You really don't get it do you? "primary evidence"... why don't you go on the internet and look for answers. Why the hell am I supposed to educate you? How many people do you PERSONALLY know that have been in those American secret prisons? I know plenty of people, and not just one or two, but over 30, who have ALL been tortured in Iranian prisons. Some have been shot for walking in student protests. You want to tell me you personally know people who have been in torture prisons? I don't think so. You know why?

you have not heard of Les Sachs a American political dissident who fled USA due to threat to his life.

And you have not read about the Islamic regime assassinating Iranian/Kurdish doctors and professors because they criticized the regime...in EUROPE.

The police murder encounter of whistleblower Bill Cooper did not happen..
The Torture of Bradley Manning did not happen.
The Torture and prosecution of milk farmers does not happen.
The Waco mass murder by the police did not happen

You are so intent on seeing those things in the US, that it has clouded your vision of other places. You think Iran is heaven don't you? GO LIVE IN IRAN, take your wife and your daughters with you and TELL US how it is BETTER AND MORE FREE than the US.

I have no intent on discussing matters with a person as delusional as you. For all I know you could have a mental illness or some other condition that leads you to say these things without adding context.

It's a shame that you have so many resourced available to you, even from birth, in America. Yet you are still blind to many geopolitical threats the US faces from China and Russia. Such a shame and so testament to American ignorance.

Get ready to hear a lot of buzz words including "mullahs" "Islamic regime" and "barbaric". Not too long ago in american history, people were hung for giving comfort and aid to slaves. Murder for murder may be a pre-modern concept but it is their form of justice, whereas modern "justice" is a car bomb or predator drone. At least this was done in a court of law.

The real giveaway here in knowing the suspect was really guilty is Israel's silence. If it was an inncent person, wouldn't Israel be screaming about how unjust it was? The article says Israel declined to comment

lived in Iran for 2 months in 2006 with investment in a bitumen trading venture .Was a failure.

So you have no evidence for the BS you write? I have met iranian businessman they like Western nations but not western propaganda.Their opinion is that West spin doctors the facts.

Russia has no interests in America today. That I learned from my 8 years in Russia. It is USA which funding NGO's with intent of creating social disturbances. Its NATO running drug trade from Afghanistan to destabilise Russia and Central Asia.

GO LIVE IN IRAN, take your wife and your daughters with you and TELL US how it is BETTER AND MORE FREE than the US.

Already lived there for 2 months and to be frank its a boring place, very boring place.I poked fun at the police and my partner flouted iranian laws and nothing happened ,yes nothing happened, everything was solved with a bribe.

Enjoy your NDAA ,your flouride laced water and monsanto poison.

For all I know you could have a mental illness or some other condition that leads you to say these things without adding context.

the Standard response of the commissars was to call dissidents and truthseekers mentally ill.hmm do you work for the NSA propaganda corps or obama fascist socialist govt?

And did you ask them how they like the Iranian propaganda? Obviously you met the wealthy folk who can bribe their way out of most matters that are not political in nature. Like they have something to complain about, what with them getting paid by the regime to inform on other Iranians.

obviously you have not seen Iran .A lot of youngsters flout the hijab and other dressing laws to make political and fashion statements. The best police normally does is impose a fine and they are easily bribed too. There's an big underground culture that exists there. As for the rich they don't give a damn about the theocratic govt. The support base of the current theocratic regime is the underclass that exists in the villages. And USA funds Jundallah and MEK to do terror acts so how can average iranian trust you.

Also, rich iranians have less faith in their media ,but they consider western media as biased and lying. The underclass/peasant class iranians look at West as the dajjal/antichrist whatever.

Yeah, because America has these things it makes Iran heaven on Earth.

You only saw what your eyes wanted to see.

obviously you have not seen Iran .A lot of youngsters flout the hijab and other dressing laws to make political and fashion statements.

But what if any of them directly make a political statement?

You don't need to tell me about the underground culture and the facebook culture. Those are not the issues. The issues are with freedom. And another thing, did you check which families they were connected to, to see who are really making a statement and those who are just abusing their privileges?

The best police normally does is impose a fine and they are easily bribed too.

So you find this okay? First of all, they get fined for doing something that is perfectly normal. Second, you're commending corruption in the force. What does this mean? That those who have money to bribe get away, and those who do not have money are forced to undergo double the punishment. IT'S NOT OKAY NOR IS THIS FREEDOM.

As for the rich they don't give a damn about the theocratic govt.

Because THEY ARE the theocratic government. They are rich because of family ties.

The support base of the current theocratic regime is the underclass that exists in the villages.

And why is that?! Not just those people, but also the rich folk who are better off with all the privileges they have due to family ties.

And USA funds Jundallah and MEK to do terror acts so how can average iranian trust you.

I am commended for my words by the average Iranian. I say things they can't. The question is not whether they can trust me to speak what they experience, the question is why you think they wouldn't. And that's very simple to answer, because you haven't seen the true face of Iran.

Also, rich iranians have less faith in their media ,but they consider western media as biased and lying.

Irregardless of faith in the media, I don't give two craps about the media. The rich Iranians can afford to not care because through family ties they are taken care of.

The underclass/peasant class iranians look at West as the dajjal/antichrist whatever.

Do you know why? When Ahmadinejad got elected, he had to get the poor people's votes. How did he do this? He nationalized lots of farms and ordered them to produce nothing but potatoes. This at the cost of all those other crops that were being cultivated. Then he proceeded to hand out sacks of potatoes to those that would vote for him. If you are poor and you need to eat, it's a simple 1+1. This might be okay in your head but it is everything but okay in the real world.

Yes.It does .

Of course it does, you guys have every kind of freedom in America, including the freedom to question matters. Including the freedom to criticize your government. Including the freedom to possess 14th century poetry(which would net you a death sentence in Iran, but you know all these things obviously).

what happened commissar, obama has reduced your benefits?

I don't even live in the US you coward.

1: historical precedent

2- for all your pandering to western ideology, you seem to have some difficulty

Please, cram it you ignorant person. I personally know... head of police over entire districts in Iran, and while the revolution was going on he ordered his men to stand down because he didn't want to spill the blood of his countrymen.

a likely story with no proof

Now let me tell you a difference between Iran during the days of the Shah and after that.

Don't need to. I don't do this to prove anything to you personally. In fact, what you believe I care not for. I care to get the words out of people who are being oppressed.

2- for all your pandering to western ideology, you seem to have some difficulty
in treating women with respect.

Why don't you ask every woman in my family whether that much is true or not. I'd bet they would feel the urge to slap you silly.

a likely story with no proof

Take it as it is, I feel no urge to disclose names.

yet you have nothing to show no proof

Go ask Iranians then. That is, if your character is good enough for people to be honest to you.

Please, you're dead wrong. I have no disturbing worship of kings, I look at the social standings of the people and base my judgement on that. It's a FACT that people were better off under the Shah than under the Islamic regime. That does not mean I agree with wasteful spending that happened back then.

PS.

You still need to grow up.

You only saw what your eyes wanted to see.

You haven't been to Iran so stop spouting lies, commissar.

But what if any of them directly make a political statement?

They already do and police and basij does nothing normally, unless you insult them or provoke them then yes they are very harsh in treatment and will create all kinds of hassles which will be a black mark on your career. If you seem moneyed then yes they will demand bribes .

And another thing, did you check which families they were connected to, to see who are really making a statement and those who are just abusing their privileges?

Most of those families are not politically connected. If they were politically connected ,my venture would have been successful.

Because THEY ARE the theocratic government. They are rich because of family ties.

Not really, their family wealth was built over generations.Big gold hoarders ,the farsis are .If I had friends with political ties ,my failed business would be a success

That those who have money to bribe get away, and those who do not have money are forced to undergo double the punishment. IT'S NOT OKAY NOR IS THIS FREEDOM.

Please prove this.Normally ,poor shopkeepers give the police officers something whenever they are in the locality as a token of friendship. You might have not seen the protests against iranian govt by Ferdoosi Street shopkeepers when the govt sought to confiscate some of the carpets because their designs were heretical to islam.I did not see the iranian govt punishing anyone.Ultimately ,the iranian govt came to compromise with the shopkeepers.

Because THEY ARE the theocratic government. They are rich because of family ties.

prove this.

And why is that?! Not just those people, but also the rich folk who are better off with all the privileges they have due to family ties.

most rich folks are supporters of the green movement.'

I say things they can't.

common underclass iranians hate the west and are strongly shia islamic or sufi believers. So ,stop the BS as you haven't been to Iran.

Of course it does, you guys have every kind of freedom in America, including the freedom to question matters

More BS from you.Do you know that its illegal to collect rainwater in the USA.It is illegal to grow organic food ,trade, sell it thanks to bill S510 in USA? Iran doesn't oppress the fundamental human right to eat, grow food and collect water for personal consumption.Stop your lies commissar.USA is becoming like North Korea,Iraq and Uzbekistan slowily and steadily.

I don't even live in the US you coward.

And yet you are lecturing a former american citizen.

Wow, carpet prints, so illegal.

While if you have poems from famous poets a death sentence is awaiting you. Do you know the power shop keepers wield? Especially the market? So of course the government can't crack down on them hard, because if they did they might have taken their support for the government away. But sure, it's the "poor" who are the backbone of the regime and not the money that's dragged in through the market place ;-)

I see you've only seen what you wanted to see. I see you've only heard what they let you hear. Such a shame.

Iran doesn't oppress the fundamental human right to eat, grow food and collect water for personal consumption.

That makes up for the lack of freedom yeh? Amazing...

here's a line that you might have repeated time and time again in your disdain for the American government:

"Those that give up a little freedom for security, deserve neither." In the case of the Iranians, they were tricked by the British, French and Americans to give up their freedom to a theocracy. How many people that walked in the revolution do you know? And do you know how many of those curse their own name for doing something so, in their hindsight, stupid?

Honestly, it sounds like a bunch of drama queens. Mostly bigots that feel the government is encroaching on them. Bigots without a global awareness. Without the ability to compare matters. It's entertaining to read, sure. Oh and most of them believe that there are aliens and ufo's and the government is hiding information about that. Or what about the many many fanatic illuminati-exists-puppets that this "anti-government rabble rabble" has created?

I'm not busy sticking up for theocracies, but the Bible seems to be the motivating factor for a lot of American legislation.

Ow really? And do you get killed for changing faith in America? Do you get murdered for criticizing the government in America? Do you get murdered for possessing poems in America? Is there religious discrimination, ie, some religions have to pay more taxes than the other, in America?

You forgot about a little thing called secularism.

Interesting response. For starters, while there are a goodly number of...shall we say speculative?...threads and discussions on this site, there is also a great deal of serious commentary on the genuine abrogation of individual rights in America since 911 - an event which itself is also being challenged by many who pay attention. You are misguided in lumping them all together as a bunch of 'drama queens', If you have so little respect for those with whom you disagree, I would suggest a site where everybody agrees with one another and clap like seals at every utterance. This ain't it.

You forgot about a little thing called secularism.
So, apparently, has the religious right and much of the Republican party.

My reference to 'your' is to America's new pals...commies with money. And the Saudis...theocrats with oil. And the very subjective way in which friends and enemies are chosen. I was being sarcastic...my apologies, I thought that was plain.

If you are indeed an immigrant to the West, as your notes seem to indicate, then you lack a sense of historical memory. The West is becoming an Orwellian wet-dream...one step at a time. Rights are being eroded and the tools are much the same as are being used in Iran. Have you read 1984? You may not have noticed but we are starting to live it. It's all a matter of degrees, Sparky.

Zombie. Sure.

Do explain how the tools are the same. Do explain how it's even remotely relative. In one place they have freedom, in the other place they don't have freedom. Lacking a sense of "historical memory" because I'm as you assume, an immigrant?
Such ignorance. How much of Iran's history do you know? I do wonder.

PS.

How do you propose to regulate 7 billion people without a single method of observation written about in 1984? Do you even know human nature?

What a load of horse manure, you guys aren't even trying to talk about the point that a court system cannot be trusted in a theocracy. You can't disagree with that point, but all you guys do is deflect, deflect and deflect some more. No worries on my side though, since, what you ignore will reach your ears soon enough.
