Seth Shostak from SETI was a guest on this week's "Skeptic's Guide to the Universe."

The talk in the podcast when to the topic of funding SETI. Seth mentioned SRI is a funder. Now SRI isn't some deep pocket science geek, but a
think-tank corporation, and a non-profit at that. Then Seth mentions that the USAF is using the Hat Creek array, AKA Allen Telescope Array, since Paul
Allen funded it initially.

OK, now I'm interested.
Initially, it was reported that the USAF was evaluating the array. They were using the array to locate items of which they already knew the location,
namely GPS satellites. [Remember how I keep mentioning you need a baseline or control to establish what is normal operation. That is how you do
research.] But it seems now the USAF is using the array for other purposes.

From the article, SRI now manages the Hat Creek Facility under USAF funding. They claim to be using the array to find space junk.
The Google Earth imagery is up to date, (2010), but poor resolution.
