How The FBI Determines Who Is A Terrorist

This is from a series of 25 flyers describing and encouraging citizens what to look for in suspicious activity:

Significantly alters appearance from visit to visit (shaving beard, changing hair
color, style of dress, etc)

Missing hand/fingers, chemical burns, strange odors or bright colored stains on
clothing

Fills a “shopping list” of components lacking knowledge about specifications
and uses

Purchases quantities of prepaid or disposable cell phones

Insists prepaid phones not be activated or programmed upon purchase

Pays cash for large purchases; uses credit card(s) in different name(s), uses
suspicious identification

Travels illogical distance to purchase items or asks where similar stores are
located

Purchasers showing unusual interest through questions related to:

Radio frequencies (used/not used) by law enforcement

Voice or data encryption, VOIP, satellite phones, voice privacy

Use of anonymizers, portals, or other means to shield IP address

Swapping SIM cards in cell phones or how phone location can be tracked

Rewiring cell phone’s ringer or back light

Products/components related to military-style equipment

Unusual comments regarding radical theology, vague/cryptic warnings, or
anti-U.S. sentiments that appear to be out-of-place and provocative
Purchases including unusual combinations of:

- Electronic timer or timing devices - Phone or “bug” detection devices
- 2-way radios - Batteries
- GPS - Switches
- Digital Voice Changers - Wire and soldering tools
- Infra-Red Devices - Night Vision
- Police scanners - Flashlight Bulbs

It is important to remember that just because someone’s speech,
actions, beliefs, appearance, or way of life is different; it does not
mean that he or she is suspicious.

I recently took a trip across country and opted to take the train instead of flying because they don't search you before getting on the train and they don't treat you like a terrorist...

Does that make me a terrorist?

This is the whole problem with Law Enforcement these days and especially the Feds. It's all about checklists and defined criteria that can be taught and trained and defended in court.

Israel is one some hate...but no one can argue the effectiveness of their security against terrorism. It's absolutely no theory or conspiracy in their world. I don't recall the shows I've watched since 9/11 on El Al and Mossad efforts to secure that little nation encluding checklists and carefully defined criteria....

Now for the guy who has read it all..Yes, they have their checklist for indicators/signs of a loaded and operational suicide bomber.They wrote the book, literally. It seems to be fairly accurate though and so, makes sense as ONE they do train for.

The rest is subjective judgement and the 'B.S. sensor' being developed by all reports they've allowed on the topic. We could use security here that is effective and not just obnoxious to appear busy to everyone....while missing guns and bombs and people looking to blow their junk all over an airplane.

We're sooo doomed with this crew we have right now.

Make you a terrorist? Probably. The TSA will get around to you train-takers soon enough. They're simply running low on perverts and criminals to hire. What--did you somehow think it had slipped their minds?

And don't even think you can escape by taking the bus or driving. They're already "training" their special terrorist-dragnet VIPR teams AboveTopSecret [VIPR Teams]....

That one interests me, maybe I'm not the brighest bulb in my Edison-style light bulb stash, but I've never heard of these rewiring "tricks" or why they are needed. What's a cell phone back light?

Some of the other items on the list, I'd be suspicious too. Yikes, now there's a terrier-list under every bed.

I like Jelly Beans, it causes a few red flags here and there...

Interesting list....makes me wonder if the FBI deems themselves as terrorists.

I despise our government as it stands more than anyone in this thread I can promise you that.

But, FOR THE MOST PART this list seems pretty reasonable to me.
If I were really looking for terrorists, these are things i would actually look for.

So a cross dresser would be a terrorist to you?

Remember, anybody who changes their appearance for any reason may be a terrorist.

The list must be used with a bit of common sense. Admittedly, common sense is not as common as it used to be. But as far as a list of activities to watch, these seem fairly good.
