Trayvon Martin: Why didnn't HE call 911 to report a "suspicious person" following him?

We know that Trayvon Martin knew that he was being followed as he confronted George Zimmerman and escalated the situation by being the physical aggressor. We also know that Trayvon had a cell phone on him and could have called 911 (as did George Zimmerman) to report being followed by a suspicious individual. Why didnt he call them? Was he known to the police as an undesirable individual (police record); did he have something to hide (although nothing was apparently found on his person)? If he had left well enough alone or had called the police himself - he would still be alive. Thoughts?

Why is this getting so much attention? I haven't watched tv lately..but this is everywhere...

How this different than any other murder?

Because he is not a 12 year old girl thats y.... I doubt he expected a 28 year old racist with a gun to end his life that day..... Any more stupid questions ?
