Turkey blames Syria for supporting Kurdish rebels, inches closer to military action

Will the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) drag Turkey into a war in Syria? The Turkish media has emphasized the declaration by the PKK's de facto leader Murat Karayilan that "If Turkey intervenes against our people inwestern Kurdistan, the area will turn into a battlezone."

Western Kurdistan is the name the Kurds call eastern Syria, inhabited by more than two million Kurds. Turkey now blames Syria for using the PKK as an additional arm, allowing members of the organization to roam freely in its territory with weapons and permitting them to carry out terror acts in Turkish territory. Should Turkey decide that the operations of PKK members threaten its national security, it may decide to invade Syria under the justification of preventing terror, rather than aiding the rebels against Assad's crackdown. Such a decision could become the turning point the Syrian rebels are hoping for – a foreign military intervention in their country.

Well this is an interesting development in the region. Its been coming for sometime however this is the first time I have seen Turkey accuse Syria of supporting the PKK. According to the article Syria and Turkey about went to war back in the 1990's because of the same issues.

Turkey also wants a security buffer in order to assist with the refugee issues as well.

No comment from Syria yet however I doubt its going to stay that way for long. Syria has military units deployed on the border dealing with the refugee / pacification of the area. Someone is going to get a twitch at which point this situation is going to be driven off the edge of the cliff.

So..I wonder when is the US going to invade Turkey for killing Kurds?

I have been wondering if this would happen.....and what the pretext would be......
Ever since hearing about the Turkish army officers captured in Syria,ive been thinking the Turks were ready for some kind of action....Their clandestine presence in Syria fighting on the rebel side,is causus belli for Syria to go to war with Turkey.....i thought maybe the officers would become some kind of focal point for a declaration of war by Turkey....they obviously dont have a lot of concern about the Assad forces knowing what they are doing....its almost a taunt between the two nations....
The middle east is just getting more complex all the time now...with all kinds of foriegn powers getting into the act.....
Who would have thought the Quataris would finance and support these rebels either?
It looks as if the UAE, bahrain and a few other shiekdoms are also anti Assad.....
The situation is ripe for busting wide open in the next while....its getting on for good campaign weather too.....
