I think you hit the nail on the head that it is propaganda , but I think it is has to do with Iran developing nuclear weapons. Planting seeds in the minds of people to justify war with Iran perhaps ?

Very probable. No one is impervious to psy ops, which really suck if the attacker is determined.

Look CNN reported Iran is developing a missile with a 60000 mile range.
