One for the Aussies here...

New video footage shows an ACT unionist, Kim Sattler inciting the start of the Australia Day protest, she falsely tells the speaker at the protest that Tony Abbot wanted the tent city pulled down

This contradicts what she said just days ago about the subject:

CHRIS UHLMANN: Kim Sattler has had several public positions on what happened next. She was first reported as having no part in the protest, then as saying she simply repeated what she had been told by Tony Hodges. She recanted after a call from the Prime Minister's office. This is what Kim Sattler told Ross Solly on ABC Radio in Canberra yesterday.

ROSS SOLLY, ABC RADIO: It's incredibly important, because if Mr Hodges told you that Tony Abbott had said that it's time to tear down the Aboriginal Tent Embassy, then...

KIM SATTLER: At no point did I ever use those words, Ross, and this is exactly what the problem is.

The video is at both links:

www.abc.net.au...

www.news.com.au...

VIDEO has emerged of a Canberra union figure telling Aboriginal tent embassy activists that Opposition Leader Tony Abbott had called for the structure to be pulled down. The vision, screened on ABC TV, shows tent embassy representative Barbara Shaw speaking to a woman who is out of camera range, but whose voice can be heard. The ABC report has identified the woman as Unions ACT secretary Kim Sattler.

What's your opinion??

The reality is it has opened the topic to discussion, no matter how shallow, within the populace. The truth is the white australia policy is alive and well within the established institutions as is control of the original owners of this land. I think it is disgusting but the gwailo majority will no doubt support it (I am gwa myself but do not support the destruction of the embassy nor the controls enforced upon certain communities). It is difficult to blame the populace of australia when they're all still dreaming, so I ain't mad at them, but it does not bring a feeling of peace or prosperity to have these issues brought into the light not in an impartial manner but clearly with intent to finalise the situation after more years than I have fingers and toes.

Where the hell are you from? Are you aboriginal or something? What do you mean them?

And stop being so racist and alarmist. What do you mean the 'white australia policy' is alive and well??

Sounds like its you who is dreaming.

Why does it matter? It is not relevant to the topic. I am white. I do not believe I was racist at all unless you refer to the use of gwa which is simply meant as foreigner or those who are not the "traditional owners of this land" (a phrase I do not like to use but which is easiest to ally peoples understanding) As for the white australia policy comment well the very destruction of what is both and embassy and statement of protest has been on the agenda for well over twenty years and if they could have removed it sooner they would have, simply look at how many times the police have been onsite, but they like all may only do what is allowed them.

And in the accounting of this distribution of wealth did you tally in the generational damage which has been done? Did you give any thought as to what it would be like for your community (Though I'm fairly certain you like most has none to identify with) to be "displaced" as it is politely known?

Tragedies have occurred and recompense is attempted, it's not really that silly.

I think if you are Australian you are Australian. Aboriginals should not be allowed to set up an 'embassy' on land they do not own. If it was OWS they would be arrested.

I think it is racist to talk about 'land rights'. Aborginals should have the same 'rights' as the rest of us. If they want land they should purchase some.

And as far as the embassy goes I think it is something that Aboriginals should be ashamed of. They should have some respect for themselves.

What if someone murdered your great grandfather? Would you hold the grandchildren of the murderer responsible? No you wouldnt because that would be beyond silly.

What have you stolen from an aboriginal? What do you have to feel sorry for? Nothing like the rest of us I would hope.

We are not responsible for what happened long ago to people we never knew.

The referendum on changing our constitution will be a great thing. You know as well as I do that people will vote no and send a message to you do-gooding liberals that hate yourselves. We are sick of you perpetuating all this bs. We are not 'sorry' nor do we have anything to be sorry for. If there is a gap to be bridged let the aboriginals take some responsiblity and bridge it themselves.

People like you give aboriginals a victim complex and you devalue them.

The illusion here is that politics is somehow meant to be about the politicians, just like 99% of all main stream media political stories.
Top politicians are public relations representatives; they are a face for the brand. They don’t have a choice in the big issues and for many decades have completely disregarded the public’s opinion which is unconstitutional.
When everyone is worrying about what Julia Gillard had for breakfast the public becomes disillusioned and confused with politics.
We need to stop feeding on the crap that the msm gives us because it is irrelevant.

Politics should never have been about the politicians.

It's not the point of the money to take into account generational displacement. Oh and you're right you racist. I do not have any 'community' as my parents came here from England and Scotland before I was born. My people are Australians, but if I were to follow your logic, then I should be able to go back to England and demand my little plot of dirt and call demand sovereignty.

Tragedies have occurred and the Australian community has bent over backwards to try and help the Aborigine people gain self respect, but people like you and marianna mackay continue to deride any attempt at reconciliation as some sort of continuing racist agenda.

If 1 billion dollars for the FUTURE of the Aborigine people is still not enough, then WE AS AUSTRALIANS may as well start up another bloody damn war and see who will be left standing, because as it is, your mob do not want to be part of this country, you want to go back 200 years and believe that you will be safe from the evolution of the entire planet as it gets smaller and smaller and your land becomes more desirable to those who'd not give a single cent to you but still destroy the entire continent.

Not a single half caste Aborigine alive today, to continue to point and blame and hate and throw racist remarks at even their own "coconut" people who try to work with everyone to get a better deal for your people, would even be alive today had the past not occurred.

Get ON with it, stop festering on hate and move on. Or do you really think letting your children live in an environment where hate and racism and self imposed segregation is going to solve anything for the next 50 years? A self perpetuating cycle of hate.

If I could get the benefits that are given to a Nyoongar, I guess I'd want to keep that segregation going too, too bloody hard having self respect and working for a living...

I can't jet set all over Australia to call people filthy white dogs and call people racists and scare the crap out of middle aged women and threaten to flog old men. I can't do that if I'm not given tax payer funds.

Wholeness and the implicate order - Read it.

And you had better believe that I would hold that grandchild responsible he is his grandfather. The period from which we judge is simply too gross to comprehend. We the explicit are the implicit.

Removed from reality indicates that I'm the one running around expecting fantasy via violence to come to fruition.

Am I ?

Cold hearted aye.. like the Nyoongars who call their own peole derogatory and hurtful names simply for attending a meeting to discuss the future welfare of their own people.

I bet arse to coin, I know many more nyoongars than you do. A few rile and whine about us wetjalas. The rest, get on with their lives. You'd do well to listen to the folks who do not scream racism at every event, and instead turn ear towards those who can make a future for their children.

Or else you may as well simply give up now.

Or are you one of us wetjalas but somehow a guilt ridden, green left socialist that thinks that without self determination and self respect, the louder you scream is the answer?

Cold hearted... lmao, sure sure... perhaps I'm cold hearted. I don't think I am. I'm treated like scum by 80% of the nyoongas I meet, yet I sit with those who would sit with me, share my drink and have a yarn. It's then that you learn than there is a vast difference between a screaming violent mob of racists, and a true nyoongar.

If all you hear is the noise, then it's because all you want to do is be deaf.

So, what is your proposal? We give up al of Perth, 90% of WA and move away? Or help those that want help to have a future??

You're silly. and you have silly notions. I want a cloud that flies and takes me anywhere I want. I guess I should scream at people in churches expecting to get one.

I'm quite happy to see some people with a great sense of view on these special rights the aboriginal people have.
They need to drop their grudges and move on, I caused none of their grief. Not my fault what happened to their parents. I was just born into a country that was established on their so called land.

How many countries have been established on another race's land?

Are those race's complaining about the people who took over years later when all is meant to be forgotten?

Let go aboriginals we will preserve your past time and respect it, but stop wanting us to feed you.

I spot a troll with no moral feedback.

Do people walk around placing the blame on Hitlers pedigree?

How would you like my grandchildren in 40 years, still argue this point with your grandchildren in 40 years.
I think it would pointless and I hope your smart enough to answer back NO.
because that's just ludicrous if you don't and means you aren't at a mature level of understanding society.
