Wow.. as I can see the "OVERLORDS " here are just as anal as college instructors. I cannot believe that MLA citings would be required. I have used quotations and web links too. so .. next what will it be?? checked for proper spelling..? fragmented sentences? run ons??.

Every college makes you do that. It's called PLAGIARISM if you don't.

You just learned that?

Even writers from your school textbook have to do it.

Just like school, you have to do it on the web.

It's called proper credit.

Yes there are rules when using work written by others. You might consult this thread as it's something we take quite seriously.

If it's petty to you, you may be in the wrong place. The Ivy League isn't for everyone.
