Cash

There ought to be a law that makes all employers give the option for employees to be paid by check, direct deposit, or cash. Homeless people can't work for checks, but they can work for cash. Why shut out the little guy? And some people don't want to have to use a bank. What's your opinion on this matter? Should all employers also offer to pay you in cash?

I think under extreme circumstances every employer should be able to pay some employees in cash (obviously having taken tax off ect), but only under certain criteria.

If not, every employee would be queuing up for their cash at the end of the day and it would mean the company having to get alot of cash instead of simple transactions through banks.

the problem is the transportation of cash to the company creates opportunites for people to rob the payroll since people like to be paid at the same time every week, i remember working at a place that paid alot of people cash every week in the UK and the cost was a good %age of the wages due to hiring police to escort the wagon then people that made me at 6'3" and 200lb look like a skinny midget to guard them while it was all dished out etc where as a bank transfer took probably 30 seconds over a slow modem link with no worries about people turning up with sheepskin coats and shooters to grab the money

My first few jobs were paid in cash (still payed my tax etc) and I loved it, I knew how much money I had all the time and never payed any bank charges.
But it would cost more money for a firm to hire security for the cash coming in to pay the work force.
I have always wanted the option of getting payed in cash or a postal order etc but I dont think my company would do it

On Topic: We are getting closer and closer to a cashless society, so I don't think it's going to happen.

Slightly off: I once took a check in to cash and asked for it all in pennies she looked at me like what? So I continued with the charade, "Yep, me and the boys have a penny poker tournament this weekend."

I ended up letting her know it was a joke when she started to leave to get her manager, man her look was priceless, wish I had a cell phone back then.

no the real problem is that way its harder to invest that money for the time the company has it a week or a month
its all a scam
