I mean some guy who looks vaguely familiar but with really bad teeth gets paraded around in some courtroom for a couple days, then, nothing.

Is he really rotting away in a cell right now, or sipping a cool drink on a beach in the Caymen Islands right now?

To be quite honest, unless you are High up in Iraqi gov or US Military, you will not find out unless he's in the court room. We (USA) wont release his whereabouts untill he's in the court room. However, I would say he's some where in EU. He is probably within a 6 hr flight range of Bagdad, and that covers alot of ground.

Did they actualy capture sadam or did they capture one of his clones?
This is a very good question but what countrie would shelter saddam?
Perhaps north korea there the only countrie that would benfit from having saddam behind its borders.

I believe that Saddam is not in prison, but sipping cool drinks and laughing in luxury. I've read somwhere that Saddam, his close associates and some of his family members made a deal with the U.S. It supposedly allowed American forces a somewhat easier advance to Baghdad because Saddams troops were ordered to "retreat" back and not to stay put and protect their perimeter at which they were located. If people say that he never gave a sh** about the people in his Country, then he'd be willing to do anything to not have to face destruction.

Supposedly he was allowed to leave the Country by plane because he made this deal that allowed the invading forces an easier occupation.

You know what? This sounds similar to what they did to Osama's family when 9/11 occurred.

Whats all this talk about clones for? If Saddam had a clone, it would have to have been made at the same time of his birth. Um.. Im not sure, but I dont think Saddam was a rich child, and I dont think Iraq had cloning tech 60 years ago. We captured Saddam. You can say BODY DOUBLE all you want, but DNA doesnt lie. Unless your O.J.

Lol, I don't think he means genetic clone. He means a double, someone who looks like him.

it was pretty much an accepted conclusion that Saddam had a number of body doubles, right?

I wouldn't call this inconclusive proof but the choppers do seem different.
Maybe he retouches his official photos...

then there's this from

Saddam's wife could not recognize her husband - 04/13/2004 15:31

Last week, American authorities arranged a meeting of the former Iraqi dictator with his wife.

She was the first of Hussein-s relatives to meet with the ex-leader of Iraq at a new place, at the American military base in Qatar. Accompanied by Sheikh Hamad Al-Tani, Sajida Heiralla Tuffah has arrived from Syria on his private jet in the end of March.

The outcome of their meeting turned out to be quite scandalous. Sajina claims that the person she encountered was not her husband, but his double. If someone were to say for sure that it was not insinuation, it would have been easy to believe the wife with a 25-year experience. It is also possible to assume that Saddam has simply changed since the day of his sons' deaths, June 24 2003. This however is highly unlikely. In case we believe Hussein-s wife, all DNA testing of the ex-Iraqi leader should be considered a mere fake. Overall, today there remain more questions then there are answers.

On the other hand however, those statements of Hussein's wife can in fact be quite understandable. After all, this is the easiest way to demoralize an enemy.

Hussein's younger daughter Hala has also arrived at the base in Qatar along with Saddam Hussein's two grandsons and two sisters, total of eight people. They were all invited by Shekh-s wife Muza to stay in one of the palaces. Eldest daughters Ragad and Rada along with five Hussein-s grandchildren have recently arrived to Doha from Jordan.

?Elaf newspaper writes that, most likely, the entire Hussein's family will stay in Qatar permanently.

Saddam Hussein was captured by the American forces in December 2003 and held in one of the palaces in Baghdad in a region controlled by the coalition forces. Afterward, due to security reasons, he was transferred to the American military base in Qatar, where he is expected to remain until the trial.

He is being held in one of his infamous underground bunkers. Heavily guarded by the US 24/7, probably plays cards with them when he gets bored

Lets not forget that we killed both his sons. We have hussain DNA. Test show that we have Sadam. Unless he has a twin. Oh yea, maybe a clone

We could use Face recognition is a Biometrics to tell if this is Saddam or just a look alike.

''The technology uses any one of a number of sophisticated algorithms and techniques. Some technologies use an algorithm called LFA (Local Feature Analysis) to identify and derive a representation in terms of the spatial relationships between irreducible local features, or nodal points on the face.''

Even a look alike with all the plastic surgery in the world can't change the distance between the eyes and a number of other points that these systems use. I think this is the method they used to tell Saddam had look alikes in the first place as the Biometrics always give them away.
