"I HAVE A DREAM" Jacque Fresco. *VIDEO*

Many of you might be familiar with Jacque Fresco from "The Zeitgeist: Moving forward" with his project, "The Venus Project". I stumbled upon this interview of him and found it pretty interesting, thought i should share it here on ATS.

I was a supporter of the occupy movement and i would ALWAYS tell people that we should of gone after the FED (particularly, money) if they wanted to a fair slice of the pie. many people iv'e seen on here call the "occupiers" socialist, leftist, communist, anarchist. etc. Fresco talks about a few differences and meibe something that the occupiers were (kinda) looking for. IMO.

Jacque Fresco: The Venus project is an attempt to bring world peace and all the nations together. If you don't want war, killing, crime, you have to redesign the way society works. You have to declare all the earth's resources as a common heritage of all the world's people. Then, we have to remove the monetary system which is basically corrupt. As if to that, we have to erase the artificial boundaries that separate people, so we have one world working cooperatively towards preserving the environment and all life as we know it.
The Venus Project rejects both Capitalism and Communism

On human thinking:

Human being is conditioned to think in a certain way. If you were raised by the headhunters of the Amazon as a babe, if you never saw anything else, you'll be a headhunter. If you were raised in Nazi Germany where all you see is Heil Hitler ..., you'll be a German. So I think all people are perfectly well adjusted to where they're coming from. There's no such thing as good or bad people, you're taught to hate certain people, where do you get that from? From environment! It's not that people are good or bad, it's that they are raised in an aberrated or twisted environment..

The Venus Project has a lot of good ideas. Jacques is a great engineer, and his aluminium home, among other things, could have worked well if it had had more of a chance. His newer domes are good, too.

Unfortunately, however, he also doesn't seem to want to open source most of said ideas. He's likely to die soon, and given how tightly he holds most of his material to his chest, it seems likely at this point that it will die with him. That would be a great shame.

i know right. great guy. shame that his project isn't getting the attention it needs. they were giving out DVD's of the "moving forward" documentary and the guy told me that Fresco wasn't working with them anymore because he wouldn't let anyone have input on being done, he wanted everything his way. Im not sure if it's true or not, im trying to find a source.

Because key references from The Venus Project have been lost it can no longer be assumed that The Venus Project and the Zeitgeist Movement are on talking terms. This may be due to fundamental differences or legal disputes in progress. Searches so far through The Venus Projects website show no reference to the Zeitgeist Movement
