On Nov 23rd a replica of the Chartres Cathedral labyrinth is being constructed and placed on the stone floor at Lincoln cathedral for 48 hours only. Appearing to be the idea of an architect from Lincoln University the real reason appears to be emanating from the Collective Unconscious. It is being placed between the two rose windows at the area known as The Crossing...the North rose window is referred to as indicative of evil and the south referred to as good. Whatever the Chartres labyrinth - resembling a brain - actually is,( an unconscious mandala?), it is being transposed to Lincoln to play a part in the further unfolding of a concentrated battle between good and evil. The labyrinth is also known as the 'Road to Jerusalem', and three miles to the west of Lincoln cathedral is the oddly named village of Jerusalem, the only one of its kind in the British isles.

interesting! thanx for the post.
the labyrinth on the floor at Chartres is actually celtic in origin, and is meant for cotemplation and meditation on the spriraling dance of life. this church was built over a sacred celtic site(many lay lines here, including the 'rose' line)
the rose line apparently starts in spain, thru france, and into britain. there are 7 sacred spots along this line that have
been visited forever, but now have churches on them(to convert the pagans).
in the middle ages pilgrims woul make the journey to these spots for salvation.
