Soviet Union vs America

Open your minds for a moment...

What if the former Soviet Union never fell! This was merely a ploy to fool Western leaders. After the Soviet Union Government officials realized that they were falling behind the United States of America technologically and economically, "They" decided they needed a way of buying more time to recuperate and so they brought about "the fall" of the Soviet Union. This way the U.S.A would be off their backs until they recuperated the technological and economical strenght "They" once had. Therefore the Berlin Wall fell, several Soviet Union states became independant nations and the Soviet Union became known as Russia. But little do most people know that Russian scientists are tinkering in their secret labs in Siberia trying to discover a new revolutionary branch of technology that would place Russia back into its power seat.

Then they mount an attack on America with China and the Middle East's support.

Their Motive: They are simply tired of our country invading others.

How: This would occur by purchasing land in Canada and tunneling to strategic areas of our country. 5 large tunneling machines which can avoid all satellite view.

The ultimate in supprise attack.

They would also have sleepers in key positions to compromise our intellegence and defence.

Is this possible?

Could this happen?

If not why not?

Do you think there would be a better means of attacking?

Despite some good military tech still made in Russia on the old Soviet platform, the army is in a bad shape, morals in the society are falling, AIDS is spreading, Checnya conflict ongoing and we are dying out judging by the numbers. You can amuze yourself with SciFi scenarious but Starship Troopers and Starwars seem more realistic to me than what you are suggesting.

No, they'll decide it was a huge pack of dogs peeing simultaneuosly

A surprise attack like that would be pointless. Russia might as well just blow up their nukes in Russia and save themselves 40 min. Could a attack like that happen sure anything is possible. But that wouldnt do anything to all those nuclear subs out there in the world oceans that would strike back for the US and wipe out anyone who tried a attack like this. And they have enough nukes to go around.

Any attack like this would result in a nuclear war and everyone would lose.

Russia has everything to gain by invading the US.
Have you been to Sybiria lately? It's damn cold over there.

You saw how Bush reacted when the planes flew into the buildings, nobody would ever expect that an invasion like this could happen. And last but not least guess what my comrades... They merely need to win only once.

Is it not possible that for years, decades they have patiently waited only for the right moment, the right time, when we have reduced our militia and arms.

These tunnels would be so deep that we would see merely a little bit of sismic activity and nothing more.
