Texas conservatives reject Harper

ca.news.yahoo.com

Conservatives in the United States' toughest crime-fighting jurisdiction — Texas — say the Harper government's crime strategy won't work.

"You will spend billions and billions and billions on locking people up," says Judge John Creuzot of the Dallas County Court. "And there will come a point in time where the public says, 'Enough!' And you'll wind up letting them out."

Harper's crime fighting bill scares a lot of US lawmakers and Harper is as conservative as they come, even scaring the most conservative lawmakers in the union; Texas. It comes as a bit of a shock as Texas is very conservative when it comes to handing out sentences to criminals but they say Harpers plan is doomed to fail as they say he can build as many prisons as he wants but they will soon get full.

Most Canadians aren't aware of this new crime bill and the powers it gives the applicable organizations.

The language in it is pretty scary. It pretty much means no privacy if they feel there is a reason to investigate you for anything they feel. It also gives them the power to seize anything they want.

Private prisons is a growth industry. I wonder how much stock Mr. Harper has in CCA and GEO.

Can't lie, this was telegraphed quite a long time ago by the left.

www.theblaze.com...

Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot has stolen some of the political oxygen in the city, and the state in general, with his new reform measures, even with all the national news going on. But that small theft wouldn't be prosecuted by his office these days: They don't do that anymore.

Creuzot, a Democrat, has angered local and state officials, and importantly police unions, with his decree that his office will no longer be prosecuting what he has non-technically referred to as "low-level" crimes. As a recent Dallas Morning News op-ed put it, "shook" the people tasked with law enforcement and government. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say he has them "shook."

So now you can strong arm rob convenient stores, snatch purses from women walking out of Walmart, or deface property in Dallas, TX with out fear of prosecution.

Let the looting begin in Dallas.

Unbelievable.

Did you seriously just resurrect an eight year old thread about a former Canadian Prime Minister just so you could take a dig at Democrats?

Sounds like it's time to up your game Care and xuen.
