Al Sharprton on Occupy wall street, he joins the revolution

I bring this in hopes it brings a debate on What he is representing, his reasons, and have some new and other ideas brought into the debate. I do ask we keep it civil as sometimes ATSers can get a bit agile in some threads..


Im sure most you know today is the official opening of the Martin Luther King Jr monument. Reverend Al Sharpton was one of the main speakers. Before he went into the full Martin king speach he began with the Occupy Wall street protest. He simply stunned me into tears. As he began to talk about occupy wall street He talked about mr kings cause of equality for all and espeically help for the poor. He talked about the unemployed extreme problem. He talked about medicaid/medical. He then in such deep passion said, across the board america we must stand up and march against the government and demand change they need to re-route their agendas to remembering the poor and helpless, he told the government we the citizens can vote them all out. He talked about work being sent over seas, He fisnished his wall street statement with, Blacks hate hispanics, hispanics pick on whites white dont like blacks, he said America is in need for us to put behind racial opions/issues and stand together in this protest/revolution. ( o yah he is also referring this as a mass revolution of a government change) He said it is for Americas survival that we go to the streets and stand as a american taking back our country. He said we are tired of being help hostage to their wreckless spending. He is going to later talk about a 25 cities march on the capitols to include the white house that will happen in the near future. I think he is influencial in becomming part of the wall street movement, and he did say he is oficially involved in it know.

I feel this is a human revolution against a global system. I think of the Hopi prophecies, nonstradomous, the religous predictions, the oracles of the past, the mayan predictions, they all point to 2 endings a peaceful or a negative, I think we set on the cross road of decision of which path to take. We can go one path and end in some catasrophic man made event, or we could go the other path which ends in a peaceful transition of the human consciousness- human outlook=idea of what a life really means...this is my beggining statement of Al Sharptons speach. I thought it was very strong and promissing

He also told us to prepare for a long winters fight. As do I feel it will take a lot longer thena few weeks or few months before they see how serious we are,

As long as people realize Al Sharpton is a Racist,oppertunist, and businessman. He will twist facts, lie and cheat to serve himself at the expense of everyone.
However, his words do resonate and could bring more people to understand a bit about OWS.

Believe me, Al doesn't care. Not about you, me, the workers, or this country, .. and he is very very rich......but even a stopped watch is right twice a day.

I agree he is racist and has his own agenda, however if one considers most amreicans have some simular issues but we also have added other life reality issues differeing from person to person. HE as called out all americans to help stop this current government regardless of who we feel about our color for know. His words were sencere and serious, This is the second time in past 3 months I heard him say to america we cant see race right know we need to work as americans for the life survival of america. Even the racist of racist can set aside a opinion when he or she feels a more threatenign issue confronting them

This is a man who looked even more intelligent when he was marching the streets in his purple jumpsuits and gold chains than he does now in his expensive suits and leather shoes.

Speaking up for his people in how they have the highest unemployment and incarceration rates and the lowest levels of incomes isn't racist. It's merely stating that statistically something is wrong.

He does have a message of truth in that poverty is now effecting not only the minorities of America in this nation but now it's encompassing the entire nation which is common ground amongst us all.

One of my favorite outspoken senior citizens ....George Carlin in who really controls/owns this country....

Ok saying sharpton has his own agenda, most protestors have similar concerns yet the also have personal concerns and reasons, I see no harm in increasing numbers OWS is about wall street ellites, sharpton is about jobs and the poor. They are all legitimate reasons for revolute.

When I see Al Shapton's name all I think of is Tawana Brawley. The man is a race baiter.

I'm 44 years old so I also remember Al's track record.
I agree he's a recognized speaker who can get the word out.... I just think he will twist the facts to suit himself as usual.

I would like to say you was wrong but i agree and the movement risks being hijacked but i think we should meet force with force and the police have drawn first blood and out gloves should come off.

Yes i know i should hug a tree and $hit like that but history shows that revoloutions are not fought like that and god knows we need a revolution because nothing is going to happen untill we take back our freedom and that will take balls and blood but the good news is i think most people in the army are on-side so must go now, i've got to start a war with Iran so i can get them all out the way and let the pigs in the street kill as people as they like.

i am confused with your reply, who are the pigs that will kill the people in iran? usa? oh but we reach one of the many cores of the OWS protest/revolution. But of course the Iran propoganda is a flase flag. and you will fight with this false flag governemnt for their agenda? hmmmm interesting
