The PDF which holds the results is apparently unavailable but the results can be found here.

The 2011 Parliamentary elections are expected to have 8 notable parties contesting. Of the 8 there are two groups of allied parties. Muslim Brotherhood backed parties share a coalition of Freedom and Justice Party alongside New Wafd Party, together these two parties polled 46.3%. Add in the Al Nour Party which subscribes to Salafism (which is violent jihad) and you have 52.3% of those polled supporting the Islamist parties. The other coalition is called the Egyptian Bloc. It is an alliance of Socialists, Communists, Liberals, and Secularists who oppose an Islamist state in Egypt. Of the parties polled it has the alliance of Free Egyptians and Egyptian Social Democratic Party which together poll 12.7%.

At this time the second largest party in the polls is the Coalition of the Youth of the Revolution. This coalition holds Social Justice Advocates, a youth organization of the Muslim brotherhood, supporters of ElBaradei, a female revolutionary and activist, and an internet activist with an interest in social entrepreneurship.

So as it stands the coalition set to win a small majority in Egyptian Parliament will be the Islamist parties.

Just a quick question

What is an Islamist?

I guess we should bomb them. Nah, can't do that. They have a strong military. Why can't we just mind our own business?

Seeing how Egypt is pretty much a Muslim country it's really no surprise that they would vote in a government that follows Islam. The US and Israel will just have to get used to the fact that our puppet isn't running that country anymore.

Islamism is political Islam, the idea that Islam is not solely a religion but also a legal, political, and economic system which operates under a Sharia law government.

So an Islamist is someone who adheres to political Islam.

I guess you should not make hasty assumptions. Nowhere did I suggest that we should attack them or intervene in their national affairs. I suppose now we must watch what is posted on ATS because it may anger people who are quick to assume conclusions simply because they misinterpreted the post.

I wasn't referring to you. I was referring to the MSM. They are less than accurate. Just waiting on their spin. Sorry if you misinterpreted that.

This was bound to happen. Muslims will never be free unless they cast aside the chains of religion. They scream for democracy and freedom and five minutes later you see them bending over for their so called "god".

What they (and all religious people) need is knowledge and enlightenment, ie gnosis.
Religion is a pox on this planet and mankind will never reach its true potential as long as it exists.
