Runner carries injured foe half mile to help in middle of race

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum or not but it seemed fitting. I know this site is for conspiracies and such, but sometimes a we need a little good to go with the bad.

Josh Ripley didn't have to stop. Running in a recent cross country meet for Andover (Minn.) High, the junior varsity runner was making his way through the trail at the Applejack Invite when he heard a loud scream during the first mile of a two-mile race. Most of the other kids running didn't pay much attention to Lakeville South runner Mark Paulauskas, who was writhing in pain at the time, as they passed by.

The runner carried his competition to help.

I found this on yahoo and was impressed with this kid. We often hear stories about how no one cares anymore and we live in an "every man for himself" culture. Part of the reason for that is stories like these don't get posted enough. While I agree that there is a definite "me, me, me" way of thinking; when we hear things like this it helps to remind us that there is good people out there.

Thank you for reminding us that there are still good people on this planet of ours!

Sometimes winning the race is not the important part.
Our elites and many others would learn a lot from this young man.

Thank goodness he was JV, as this never would have happened during a Varsity race...

I ran track and Varsity lettered in high school and fundamentally.

First of all it isn't a Foe, it's a fellow competitor. We are fellow athletes first, and competitors second.

Yes, he thought about the entire Race Season.....many more races in the Cross Country Season in which to compete.

And helping out a fellow runner in need. He would hope that the same respect would be paid to him in a time of need.

As far as I'm concerned, that kid *did* win that race. All the other runners failed.

His family and friends must be so proud of him..

This helped remind me how I need to be a better person and citizen for my community. Thanks for the post.

I don't know...kinda sounds like socialism or communism to me. I hope he did the American thing and charge him per minute to carry his lazy bum back to his team. A good $100 a minute sounds like a fair deal, supply and demand.
