Once Firefox 7 comes out it will fix memory use issues and start up time among other things

Vastly improved memory usage (up to 50% better) and increased speed
Drastically improved memory use
Added a new rendering backend to speed up Canvas operations on Windows systems
Bookmark and password changes now sync almost instantly when using Firefox Sync
Added support for text-overflow: ellipsis
Added support for the Web Timing specification
Added an opt-in system for users to send performance data back to Mozilla to improve future versions of Firefox. This can be enabled by installing an add-on
Fixed several stability issues

Since it's rapid release cycle they are on it will get here rather soon. It's already in the Beta channel www.mozilla.org... if you want to try it out.

FF has been crashing almost regularly for me since the last update and I don't even have tons of tabs going. Glad I'm not the only one though hopefully they get this worked out soon.

I sometimes avoid getting the newest update for a week or so, since that gives them time to fix the glaring bugs.
