Presidential Elections, just an illusion???

The article makes a good point. The minority groups definitley do need representation and a simple 51% vote would allow injustices to occur. However, i still don't believe that the electoral college is the best thing to remedy it. This article uses the following logic "The minority is not represented in a true democracy.. that is why the electoral college is so good!" It skips the middle step. The electoral college is still very subject to corruption. I don't know for sure if thats the truth, but hey... It could be.
