ISS astronaut Ron Garan photographed a spectacular fireball from Earth orbit

On August 13th during the peak of the Perseid meteor shower, ISS astronaut Ron Garan photographed a spectacular fireball from Earth orbit. NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office confirms that the meteor was likely a Perseid, as opposed to a sporadic (random) meteoroid.

Would this have been visable from earth? Wondering if anyone saw this??
Also saw earlier, a thread about a meteor disrupting the GPS network, thinkin this couldve been it...
The ISS is lucky it didnt take out that giant wing mirror on the side !!

What about the large Orb/planet/UFO at 5 to about an inch above it!

I photograph these regularly around the sun, what are they?

Im not sure...on second thought, it could be the moon, far in the distance, sun is on the right side too.... care to post some pics of what youve photographed?

Fireball ? yes, Spectacular? NO

How come this pic is ``blurred`` or have some grain in it... radiation in space?

And how come then the 1969 pics on the moon were clear as day... and this one ain't?

That is an amazing shot! I think this might be the place to ask, did anyone see a green meteor bearing down verticaly, at a slight angle on the 30 july? From the end of my driveway in Waterfall, Durban, South Africa, it fell to a West-South-Westerly direction. It was a beautiful sight, it went from a point of white light to as big as a dime and green in like 2-3 seconds! Then went from view behind some trees , almost jumped out of the drivers seat trying to get my mate to notice before it vanished another mate of mine about 8kilometres away (who we were on our way to) also saw it. Because of the distance I feel this ruled out the possibility of a flare or firework. So, did anyone else out there see this?
