After the slaughter that took place in a UN camp, located on Burundi's border with the Congo, where more than 150 were killed, the president of Burundi has made it clear that his country could take action. Security has been stepped up along the Democratic Republic of Congo's border after Rwanda and Burundi have said they could send troops and begin an invasion.

The defense minister of the DR of Congo has said that an invasion of the Congo would not solve the problem. That, "these rebels are in all three countries". Representatives from the DR of Congo and Burundi have been holding talks to try and find a peaceful means of conflict resolution, but the people of Burundi are restless and calling for action.
