House panel approves broadened ISP snooping bill

Looks like the government is still able to pass legislation to keep better tabs on our internet activity as opposed to actually spending this time trying to avert a financial metldown.

A last-minute rewrite of the bill expands the information that commercial Internet providers are required to store to include customers' names, addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, and temporarily-assigned IP addresses,

It represents "a data bank of every digital act by every American" that would "let us find out where every single American visited Web sites," said Rep. Zoe Lofgren of California, who led Democratic opposition to the bill.

That last quote from the article is very disturbing. Why do they really need to worry about what we are all doing? If they spent half as much time worrying about what they are doing then they may actually get some meaningfull work done.

This is one of those things they pass through congress with the left hand while we are all focusing on the magician's right hand.

The whole debt argument is a planned circus to keep the eyes off the stuff they want to keep quiet. At the last minute they will pass something to advert "financial armageddon" and pat themselves on the back with the left hand they just stabbed the people in the back with.

Here you can lookup any IP address and find the exact location including Longitude and Latitude and Zip code, and ISP. ALL free. So If you wanted to, you could basically grab any persons info just by knowing their IP. Imagine this amount of control extended
