set up to honor a fallen National Guard soldier who also volunteered for the fire dept, where the money was stolen.
Two charged with taking money from fire department bank accounts
PORT BYRON, Ill. Firefighters in Port Byron say they're shocked that two colleagues have been charged with stealing money from a memorial fund
honoring a local soldier who died serving in Iraq.
James D. Roos and his wife Nicole were arrested Friday in connection with the theft of about five-thousand dollars from several fire department
accounts.
Both are volunteer firefighters for the tiny northwestern Illinois village.
