Drought/ Napolean thought that firing his big cannons caused rain

It was dry here (American southwest) and after the big fourth of July show it rained like crazy. In some drought areas like west Texas it seems like the military could fly over some and break the sound barrier and see of the sound waves could induce some extra rain. Seems crazy, but what the heck, the drought is creating some severe economic problems.

Didn't old fashioned rainmakers bang on pots and pans and drums?
