Hey everyone,

Found this website I know it's old news or even old school, on the top 10 countermeasures to use against spy gear. This article was written in '08 and I am certain is in need of an update for all of today's current spying techniques.

Was wondering if you could help me out here. Was hoping folk could add the latest gadgets /countermeasures if you are in the know of these things. I am not doing aNYthing wrong, I just want and value my privacy, and most certainly do NOT like the idea of people using ANY type of spy technology .Invasion of Privacy is NOT a good thing!

I wanna know how to stop this from happening . Being still on the grid I doubt it even possible.

Here is that website, it's kind of lame, and as I said " needs updating" so I hope you guys can help!!:

dvice.com...

Thanks in advance.

Easy:

1.) Do NOT use a computer.

2.) Do NOT use a mobile phone.

3.) Do NOT use a landline.

4.) PAY with money rather than a credit/debit card

5.) PHYSICALLY secure your house as much as possible

6.) DO leave methods in your home to detect unauthorised entry

7.) DO install a home CCTV system

8.) DON'T tell anyone what your up to.

9.) DON'T draw attention to yourself.

10.) FOLLOW the above rules.

Since you mentioned that your not up to anything no good, I've not included things that would be more realistic (probably a break of T&C's anyway's) but if you follow the above then it's going to make it extremely difficult for anyone to spy on you.

I have several of these scattered outside and inside my home, noone, not even my family known's there exact location, however some are built into the walls and those outside my home are in the most obvious and non obvious locations. I also have dummy cam's, i went to these measures after my home was broken into several years ago. Before i forget all these are motion activated and feed goes through an independent wireless connection that does not reside within the property.

These are some of the models.

First, realistically ask yourself this:

"Are you important enough to spy on?"

( really?)

Do you have access to ts/sci or valuable proprietary information? Going through a legal action ( divorce or business merger?)
No?
Then why would anybody spend money and man hours to spy on you?
What would they gain?

added:
Thegovt has ready access to the telecoms since the patriot act.Consider all phones "compromised". there is no way or need to detect a "tap" anymore.
The digital data stream is simply copied and sent to another line.No aftermarket device is going to prevent the telcom digital telephone "switch" from routing data to two separate addresses. That's why w e have/had the fisa court system. to keep this all legal and minimize abuse by the govt..

ALL of us are having our privacy invaded in case you weren't in the know. Even the smart meters coming up , have the tech to spy.

Hellooo...Wake up!

As far as the smart meters goes, you can read about them here. Put all the other ways of spy gathering together, and they add up to about every daily detail of your life, the use your appliances , etc. Your daily habits, etc. I would think. Add all the profiling together and you pretty much have a full picture.
Maybe this thread would help you understand where I'm coming from...

Surveys even collect info, Krogers and other chain stores profile, they even know what you eat, your daily habits, etc. Probably already know a lot more than we realize about us. Profiling folk in every way = police state, imo.
You may have different ideas about things, but this is the way I see it. ..and I'm not that good at explaining such a long story...putting puzzle pieces together.

To make a long story short. Our privacy rights are being violated in many ways and this makes me furious.---------I can'[t prove anything, maybe you guys can help me out. But it's all out there ready for you guys to put two and two together.
2+2 = police state
even.

IMO, We need to stand up for our freedom and not allow the crap that is going on... and that means countermeasures and speaking out! That's just how I feel. ....Thanks for reading.

I agree too much information is too readily accessible;

I tell my supermarket to stuff their little discount card.As I do barnes &noble booksellers. There is a certain anonymity in numbers: ( like a swirling ball of "bait fish". You are certainly "vulnerable". you can only hope you are not the one "bait fish" the mackeral picks out to chase. because he can get you.

Encryption should work pretty well i'm told. You can encrypt your hard drive and wi-fi and try to pick a private key (not provided)

For passwords accounts you have to pick one with a mix of 14 letters, numbers
(source: hackermagazine) ex: 14Azier,dlZz:78 hard to brute force such a password

Other things to protect you is to use an emulator so you can use for example windows 7 inside windows 7 with this emulator. With that one you can do whatever you want without harming your main windows7 os (viruses, porn... whatever).I wouldn't use 7 though but something very light, Linux or Xp (but Linux should be a more obvious choice for safety reasons)

First things to do is get off the internet and get rid of your cell phone. That should make you 90% less spyable i'd imagine.

Lol I'm not ready to give the internet up just yet . But I hear ya!

Have read about building a faraday cage for your pc..but that stuff seems to be a bit over my head . Would a box fan interfere with signal intercepts? Am curious to know these type things.

Appreciate the replies, everyone.
