As usual I check around different sites for information pertaining to various subjects of interest. Very few people have an idea of what it looks like when things go down, especially in a combat zone. Even with today's embed journalists much is edited for and buy the media.

Here is a recently found report;


On June 10, 2011 the US Central Command (CENTCOM) FOIA office released over 200 declassified documents on the investigation of the battle at Combat Outposts (COP) Keating and Outpost (OP) Fritsche in Afghanistan on October 3, 2009, in which eight soldiers were killed. The documents describe in graphic detail the day-long battle on the ground and in the air through textual and photographic evidence assembled for the investigation. Selected documents below. Source:

I'm amazed that CENTCOM released this stuff. Makes me wonder if someone was about to leak so they pushed it out first instead.

Very nicely detailed report. Look at all those lines in red: "...killed at mortar position"
Yep we are winning over there.
