Update at 5:02 p.m. ET: WLOX-TV reports that 77 Air Force Cadet personnel are being sent to hospitals in the Hattiesburg area for evaluation after being in the area of a lighting strike about 2 p.m. Camp officials said all personnel are responsive and in stable condition.

The information I get from that report though is that there were really only 4 soldiers that were actually harmed in any way shape or form ("responsive and in stable condition) but that as a precaution all the rest of the people in the area were sent for "evaluation". Which I think is the standard safety procedure for checking heart rhythm after any kind of electrical shock exposure. You've probably got 73 soldiers sitting in the hospital waiting room thinking "what the hell am I wasting my time sitting here for".
