I've been saying this since the attacks on conspiracy theorists began.

Anyone who questions the government is a target.

Hopefully we at least all get Captain America-style bullseye shields!

And Of course any paranoid soccer mom and all the sheltered urban dependents who've only ever seen a gun in movies or in the nightly news ghetto updates are eating this segment up as unadulterated fact attributed to everybody with "don't tread on me" bumper sticker and all of the people they've only ever seen made fun of on late night comedy shows who populate the entirely barren wasteland between New York City and Las Angeles.

and anyone who doesnt think the government is all evil is a disinfo agent or somehow part of "TPTB", a jack booted thug, for profit agent, enforcer of illegal laws etc etc etc.

Stereotyping in this case is being done by both sides of the coin with blanket accusations.

TRying to claim the moral high ground by either side is a joke.

Propaganda behavior modification programing at it's finest. Such a patronizing, condescending tone, feigning ignorance of any wrong doings by the gov't. I don't want to watch the whole hit piece, who knows what frequencies are coming out of the TV during that show.

No no no. My father had it on in another room, and I can hear it from there. Oh, and before you joke about my age, I'm 20 and home from University on break.

The issue was people using the 2nd amendment as a threat to politicians and authority officials rather than a granted right to protection. There is a clear cut difference between protection and intimidation. Yes, many confuse the two, much like they do fear and respect. Their misunderstanding doesn't change the fact of the matter.

Let's use an aide, shall we?
dictionary.reference.com...
in·tim·i·date
   [in-tim-i-deyt] Show IPA
–verb (used with object), -dat·ed, -dat·ing.
1.
to make timid; fill with fear.
2.
to overawe or cow, as through the force of personality or by superior display of wealth, talent, etc.
3.
to force into or deter from some action by inducing fear: to intimidate a voter into staying away from the polls.

dictionary.reference.com...
pro·tec·tion
   [pruh-tek-shuhn] Show IPA
–noun
1.
the act of protecting or the state of being protected; preservation from injury or harm.
2.
a thing, person, or group that protects: This vaccine is a protection against disease.
3.
patronage.
4.
Insurance . coverage ( def. 1 ) .
5.
Informal .
a.
money paid to racketeers for a guarantee against threatened violence.
b.
bribe money paid to the police, politicians, or other authorities for overlooking criminal activity.
6.
Economics . protectionism.
7.
a document that assures safety from harm, delay, or the like, for the person, persons, or property specified in it.
8.
Archaic . a document given by the U.S. customs authorities to a sailor traveling abroad certifying that the holder is a citizen of the U.S.

Now, just because one has similar traits to the other, does not make the two equal on any level. The second amendment gives us the right to protect ourselves and our families, not to intimidate or induce fear into others.

Just my two cents, don't go crazy over it.

The guy interviewing, think his name was Byron Pitts came accross as incredibly low in intelligence.. He couldn't understand the most simple of terms described to him about the sovereign citizen movement..

Or maybe he was just pretending to be an idiot for the show in order to try and portray the guy as rediculous and nonsensical... Mr. Pitts did seem like a hired shill moron to me though, a role that would fit him naturally even if it wasn't scripted..

As both a supporter of the 2nd Amendment and the efforts of the Tea Party. I just have to say, people who think this way are just nuts. These are just the kind of folk who will give the government to further reduce our freedoms in the name of “protecting us.”

Check this out...it's surreal.

Looks like from the clip, 60 min. hasn't aired where i am at yet, that they found some guy with the most "out there" story to represent all who Dare to question TPTB. C'mon, Straw-men theory? but maybe that explains why I do NOT like Scarecrows... well more like fear them but that's for another post... I digress...
Now the ones that still sleep have another group to be afraid of.... legal Handgun carriers , i can see it now...

Interviewer: "Sovereign Citizens have a history of going after law enforcement who give them a hard time". Response: "Oh,... I hope they do. If they want to come after me, I'm very easy to find. If they want to come after me, I have no problem with it, and MIGHT EVEN LIKE IT".

What the hell is going on here?..

OP This is so off topic and I am sorry but your avatar is so funny. I cannot stop laughing!

On topic- It was just a matter of time before they started to stereotype free thinkers. The world does not want us thinking for ourselves and they need to squash it as much as possible. They forget that it was those that opposed oppression that started this nation of ours and it will be those that are willing to stand up to this crazy government that will bring about change.

Man still laughing about your avatar.
