Pakistani security officials reacted with skepticism on Sunday to a U.S. assertion that Osama bin Laden was actively engaged in directing his far-flung network from his compound in Abbottabad where he was killed on May 2.

Washington said on Saturday that, based on a trove of documents and computer equipment seized in the raid, bin Laden’s hideout north of Islamabad was an “active command and control center” for al Qaeda where he was involved in plotting future attacks on the United States.

“It sounds ridiculous,” said a senior intelligence official. “It doesn’t sound like he was running a terror network.”

Pakistan, heavily dependent on billions of dollars in U.S. aid, is under intense pressure to explain how the al Qaeda leader could have spent so many years undetected just a few hours’ drive from its intelligence headquarters in the capital.

Analysts have long maintained that, years before bin Laden’s death, al Qaeda had fragmented into a decentralized group that operated tactically without him.

“It’s bull#,” said a senior Pakistani security official, when quizzed on a U.S. intelligence official’s assertion that bin Laden had been “active in operational planning and in driving tactical decisions” of the Islamist militant group from his secret home in the town of Abbottabad.

One of bin Laden’s widows, Amal Ahmed Abdulfattah, told investigators bin Laden and his family had spent five years in Abbottabad.

Abdulfattah, along with two other wives and several children, were among 15 or 16 people detained by Pakistani authorities at the compound after the raid.

She said that before Abbottabad, bin Laden had stayed in a nearby village for nearly two-and-a-half years.

Residents of the village of Chak Shah Mohammad, at the end of a bumpy road flanked by fields of wheat, were both puzzled and a little scared to find themselves at the focus of the investigation.

“Everyone in the village knows when a cow has a calf so how could bin Laden and his family hide here?” Mohammad Naseer, a 65-year-old retired soldier, said as he took a break from working his fields. “I can say for sure he wasn’t here.”

The village is made up of about 120 small, brick buildings, homes and sheds, and has a population of about 400 people, although many have left for work in cities.

Pakistani security agents have been going house to house, searching for clues.

“Police never used to come to our doors but now these guys are turning up all suspicious of us,” said school teacher Ahmed Sultan.

“My young kids are asking ‘Dad what happened, what did you do?’” he said. “We have nothing to do with bin Laden. We’re Pakistani … We don’t feel anything for him.”

Many Pakistanis are speaking out that they do not believe that Bin Laden was anywhere near the compund where the US says they killed him at. Nor do the residents of a small village some few miles away say that Bin Laden stayed in their village for 2 years. The emerging pattern is that Pakistan is being turned into a purposeful foe for ?? use. The CIA has had a presence in Islamabad going back to the days of Desert Shield that turned into Desert Storm. One can assume that anyone of the likes of Osama Bin Laden moving into any village there would readily learned about by assets which the agencys maintains.

For someone with the international reputation and most recognizable face on th eplanet such as Bin laden to live anywhere for any period of time begs the questions of did the CIA know this and withhold information as to his whereabouts for their purpose or a specific time in history? Or did Bin laden just know where to go in order to hide out amongst old friends who operate under the three most recognizable letters on the planet?

Despite all of the sheeps who took to the street in their support of the information they were fed in the MSM regarding Bin laden's death, serious questions remain to be answered and with the flat out defiant refusal by Obama to produce the photos of a dead Bin laden, every American has a duty to start asking questions in which many do want to answer. Pakistan has been the benefactor of much aid at the hand of the US government and it is by the government's hand that Pakistan gets fed, so any blame shouldn;t be placed towards Pakistan as the US government already knows who they are dealing with here. To blame Pakistan or say that "they were never our friends" is nothing but a purposeful misplaced statement designed to throw off the average sheeple who feed on the MSM's every word which is manipulated by the elite in the US government.

Pakistan more than likely wasn't the one who couldn't be trusted here, it was probably elements of the US government who have been operating in that country for decades now and have made extensive & elaborate ties within the Paki government who they feed information to in order to operate. The layers of lies within that type of environment would confound most average Americans because to understand it, one must operate within it for a period of time. Pakistan is now being placed on the defensive in a small part of it's own design but within a much larger design, the US element is more to blame for this current situation. Pakistan will be made to another Iraq or Iran for as of yet undetermined purposes.

One thing is clear, Obama has yet to show evidence that Bin laden is dead. No photograph of Bin Laden's dead body equal no proof that he was killed. The hasty dumping of Bin Laden's body (if it was indeed his) places ten fold more suspicion on Obama and this entire situation. Pakistan shouldn't be getting the bad press as they currently are in the MSM but since the MSM is a bunch of liars and partners with the elite in government because without one another, the government couldn't manipulate and control the sheep. And the media types wouldn't be able to report anything.

It could be setting up a pseudo-plausible reason for redacting the billions in financial aid to Pakistan. As for possibly setting them up as enemies and potential war, I don't believe the US would do such a thing until/unless India gets involved. It just makes sense to have India spearhead any efforts taken against Pakistan. So that would make me think that if the US really is making an enemy out of Pakistan, India is in for some false flag trouble.

Good post here, pal. I believe Pakistan was genuine in saying they had no clue OBL was there. Because I don't believe he was there. It's pretty convenient for Obama to get him right before re-elections are coming up. Pretty fishy ehh? It's also very plausible that the US are trying to start a war with Pakistan over something so stupid. And most Americans are just happy he's dead. Hence the dancing in the streets. But they need to open their eyes and realize that something bigger is going on here. Why did they dump his "body" into the ocean within 12 hours of his supposed "death". They showed Saddam's hanging on the news but they couldn't show this. The MSM even stated OBL was unarmed so why wasn't he ARRESTED and given a fair TRIAL? Saddam got that and he was allot worse than OBL in my opinion.

It could be either. Pakistan could indeed be helping the enemy just as they could be in the dark about their lawless country. Either way in my opinion the US is making the most out of it for it's own purpose(s).

Well I knew that but that's nothing recent. Not like India is going to use this to start a huge war. It doesn't make sense

yep saw the interview with the guy who owned the homes on both sides of the so called bin laden compound says no way was he there.

still odd Pakistan is saying they have his wives and one confirms they were there for 5 years. Unless like they are saying he stayed in his room for all that time...

I know they are not going to go to war with Pakistan unless they want WW3 The problem being I'm pretty sure another world war is the plan.
