I'm sick of the BL threads too but I just saw this news report on the Sky News website which claims computers have been taken away from the compound.

Computers were among the items removed from the compound on the outskirts of Abbottabad where Osama bin Laden had taken shelter, it has emerged.

Source

It prompted me to an earlier report that Bin Laden had no internet connection or satellite. Yes I understand that he could still have material on those computers, but why would he? He obviously knew that if he had the internet/satellite/telephone he could be spied on, surely he wouldn't be stupid enough to have computers with material on them?

It had no phone or Internet running into the house.

Source

A lot of things are sounding suspicious about the whole thing in my opinion. Would love some comments on this piece of information.

Well I thought the same thing too? The claim that there was no electricity, and no connection for the computers much less wireless, would deem the confiscation of these alleged computers moot. But one thing I noticed last night, on the several different news stations that shown the compound in real time, there was a huge satellite on grounds of the compound. So if there wasn't electricity, ( which would suggest no direct tv capabilities ) and no hook up for computers, then why the need for a satellite? That's why many people don't believe the OS of BL's death. To many things that just dont add up, much like the above details that were not discussed.

Well everyone has Facebook you know. That's probably how they tracked him!

Or maybe he was even on ATS!

I didn't know about it having no electricity. Did you read this on a trusted source, because I can only find mixed sources. some say there was, some say there was not.

Another thing I found strange was the value of his property. Valued at $1m. No electricity would immediately devalue the property, by how much, who knows. So $1m for a property in Pakistan... I was under the belief that money was worth something in Pakistan. Maybe I was wrong.

You know the CIA and FBI are nothing but a up. I remember when the cold war in Reagan's Presidency was over. The question was asked "what should we do with the Army of CIA and FBI". The answer was that now they will protect the Secrets of American Businesses. The reason they gave was Foreign Governments are lurking to steal the information. Before we knew it, big Corporations hired the top of their Security to be FBI/CIA agents. They have to justify their existence. They are on the Tax payer payroll working for bilderberg killing President Kennedy and high ranking officials that doesn't go along with American Mafia.

He had electricity, he had TVs and computers, just no phones, especially satellite phones, and no internet. All communication was handed in person to a courier. They claimed no wires were run to this compound to keep it off the grid. OBL obviously knew all too well the perils of phones and online communication. He has satellite dishes on the roof, just no phone or internet.

There might be encrypted lists of his organization on those computers or it might be his stash of porn, but being they're from his lair of lairs it's probably got some juicy tidbits.

Meh The Sun

Yeah I get what you are saying, my point though, was that if he was so paranoid about telephone/internet... Why would he have a computer, better still why would he have a computer with "secrets" on it?

I didn't read The Sun article out of principle (I'm from Liverpool). But judging by the Sky News article:

Nisbet added: "Of course we are not party to what that information is."
Source

So nobody really knows IF there is anything on them, but would be interesting to see what comes of the whole computer issue. If they claim to obtain a hell of a lot of information, then I definitely believe there is reason for suspicion.

So you suspect that they are looking to see what his high score on Tetris was?

Ever consider that he was using a wifi?

And thats the problem, there are so many different versions, and different details, how does one actaully get facts from a " trusted source". Whether he did or didn't have electricity, the web, toilets are a kitchen sink, is irrelevant. What is though, is if they did confiscate computers, what was on them? Of course, the CIA/FBI and any other USG organization for the elite wont show us what was on those pcs....remember according to them we are dumb servants who can't handle the truth.

Obviously he had computers.

Osama had to have the computers because the data on has "slam dunk" evidence to justify another war.

This is an affluent suburb, the home of retired generals and the location of Pakistan's Military Academy. Why WOULDN'T they have Internet access there?

No one is saying these computers held secrets. They haven't released anything about them other than the fact they were seized. Maybe they held secret al-Quida secrets, maybe not.

The guy liked to release video tapes of his terror message now and then, so maybe he had a pirated copy of Adobe Premier or After Effects on there...

Or maybe the feds plan to plant some child porn on them to make sure the case against Osama Bin Laden is a slam dunk, just in case 9/11 wasn't enough to justify killing the bastard.

I think you are all missing my point in this thread..

I didn't say he had secrets, I didn't say he didn't have secrets. I was simply questioning the fact that he was too "paranoid" to have the internet or a phone line, why would he have a computer or if he did, why would he have anything on it?

Is this something that may be used to put forward evidence from items on his computer?

The seriousness of it is:

a. Didn't have internet... Why?
- Too paranoid?
- Couldn't afford it?
- Connected via another source?

My guess is too paranoid

b. Didn't have a phone line... Why?
- Too paranoid?
- Couldn't afford it?
- Connected via another source?

My guess is too paranoid

c. Had a computer... Why?
- Watch movies online?
- To keep all of his attacks in one place so close to an Army base?
- For the fun of having a computer? (didn't see so much of a lamp in that place)

Osama Bin Laden's 'terror secrets' seized

This was a quote from a previous poster. This is more a direct attempt to assume that there is something within the items taken. But then, guess who it's from, The Sun.
