Damn! I forgot about RINO Brown. So at the time of the budget deadline the Dems ONLY had a majority. Glad that's solved. Pelosi and company still screwed up and pulled parlor tricks to avoid the budget process. They failed to do their jobs!!

ETA

Sure the Reps.COULD HAVE filibustered a budget. Could have. However, they were never given the opportunity to even debate the budget. It just sat on Pelosi's desk. Coulda, woulda shoulda... Filibustering is a tricky situation and doubt the GOP would have played that card on the eve of the mid term election.

Now let's agree to hold Pelosi accountable for stalling the process
She needs to get the blame that she deserves.

Yes, that is my point. Why even give the Republicans a chance to filibuster while they have no stake in the game??? They only have to gain from doing that...they have no pressure on them because they control nothing...but blocking bills makes them look like they are stopping the evil Dems from passing their agenda. It wouldn't matter if they agreed with the budget or not...they would of come out smelling like roses. I think they would of LOVED to filibuster an Obama budget right before the mid-terms.

Then if Obama tried to pass it between the mid-terms and when the new members were seated, the Republicans would of made it look like Obama is trying to slam through a budget while he still controls both the house and senate. The Dems made the best play they had available.

So you wait to act until the Republicans have some responsibility in the matter. And now the Republicans are in the tough spot. They set a goal, a goal they don't think Dems can make...33 billion. The Dems call their bluff and make those cuts. The Republicans can't let that pass...then it makes it look like Obama is working with them to actually get something done. So they move the goalposts...and claim they want 60 billion. That got a huge backlash...so they say...OK...40 billion. But they put the extra 7 billion in defunding two items that they know Dems will never agree to.

And that is where we are at. The Republicans saying "We need 7 billion more in cuts or we won't budge...why won't the Dems at least cut 7 billion more???". The Dems are calling them out and saying "The Republicans are playing politics...they are proposing cuts based on ideaology, not based on seriousness to get a budget passed.". It is all on the shoulders of Republicans now. They either stand their ground on their ridiculous demands of legislating through the budget on long standing ideological isssues and shut down the government (which will reflect badly on them). Or they cave and agree to the 33 billion and look bad for caving. They have been outplayed...there is no out for them. It is like a basketball team fouling at the end of the game while they are down by 50...they are going to lose...they are just delaying the inevatable.

Yes it is a game...yes they are playing...but so is the other side and this time the Dems outplayed them.

Is it now finally begining to sink in with all Average Americans?

The GOP/NeoConserviBaggers do not care for you, your family, this nation.

The point is well clear. Anything that hinders or obstructs their campaign donors is being targeted.

Welcome to the New America if they get their way, taking this glorious nation back into the mid 1800's!

I do not list things like Social Security or Medicare as entitlements as the term is literately disgusting, let's call both from now on what they truly are, insurance policies that every taxpayer pays into to north of 45 yrs each and when you need that cushion it shall be there for you. Another massive problem with outsourcing is when more people collect from a system that less pay into there will no doubt be problems. That is why they do not want to back the High Speed Rail proposal because those jobs cannot be outsourced guarandamnteeing that all money generated from said venture remains in this nation keeping things like SSA/SSI/SSD and Medicare fully funded for the long range.

Remember this fall, 2012 and every election afterwards that a vote for any of these douchebags holding this up for whatever reason is a vote against you, your family, America, The Constitution.

BTW, The Constitution never prohibited nor denied Government the authourity to establish and create programs to help out the citizenry so to say that things like SSI, Medicaid/Medicare, Unemployment, Workmans Compensation, providing health insurance for your employees is against the Constitution seriously needs to re read the doc completely and if you then fail to see it come and speak to me and I'll enlighten you.

Defunding the EPA now is the absolute worse thing today as the during the rise of the Industrial Revolution no one was paying attention to enviornmental impact and look at what we got nowadays, a literate climatic clusterflook We have the knowledge and tech nowadays to severely limit our impact on the planet and global ecosystem whereas we overall cannot afford to get rid of enviornmental regulations as that is what made electric and hybrid cars possible. Kill that and watch the world plunder into WWIII within about a decade afterwards.

A vote for a NeoConserviBagger is now a vote against humanity, all that is good and wholesome and btw they have officially lost the right to complain when things go sour for all. Are you listening?

no but cutting this is a start

The FY 2012 budget proposal of $8.973 billion represents about a 13 percent decrease from the FY 2010 budget of $10.3 billion.
from this link www.epa.gov... it is just shy of 9 billion now how would you use that? better edu? defense? tax refunds? lets say you gave x$ amount to every person how would that be 9bilion dived by shy of 400 million people can you say early Xmas. yes i do not like the EPA.

If the democrat controlled house and senate had passed the budget for 2011 back in 2010 then this would be a moot point. But blame it on republicans if it makes you feel better.

Did the Democrats delay the passage of the budget until the Republicans took control of the house? Yes...and they did it for various reasons. But did the Republicans have to take that opportunity to shut down the government??? No...they didn't...but they are choosing to do so. Which is why I believe is the reason the Democrats did it...to expose the Republicans and let them show their true colors. They don't care about the country or the budget...they only care about their ideology.

So you believe the Dems deliberately delayed the budget knowing the Reps would not care about the people??
Logic dictates if that is your belief then you must believe BOTH parties don't care about the people..
The Dems especially for creating the situation..
