The goal of eradicating polio from the country of Afghanistan is one that Canada took on as part of their non military aid.
It has succeeded so far to have spent some 60 million $ but has been unable to vaccinate children in the more heavily contested area in the south.
Here is a run down on progress to date and an explanation of the difficulties encountered.
Therewere about 38 cases of polio in Afghanistan last year as opposed to 58 the previous year.
This is some indication ofprogress maybe, but there is another 58 million been allotted to complete the vaccinations.
Hopefully the security situation will improve enough to carry out the program in the more heavily contested areas.

Considering polio disappeared when the dirty infected standing water did.
the polio vaccine has been found to contain horrendous cancer and other disease causing agents.
as Bill Gates said "we hope to cause a 15 peprcent population reduction through use of vaccines".

maybe the afgahnies have figured out we aren't there to help
really.

PS
in America, originally, some 250 millions were infected with MV 40
the most cancer causing virus ever discovered,
right off the git go...
