NEW ORLEANS – A BP employee lost a laptop containing personal data belonging to thousands of Louisiana residents who filed claims for compensation after the Gulf oil spill, a company spokesman said Tuesday. BP spokesman Curtis Thomas said the oil giant on Monday mailed out letters to roughly 13,000 people whose data was stored on the computer, notifying them about the potential data security breach and offering to pay for their credit to be monitored. The company also reported the missing laptop to law enforcement, he said. The laptop was password-protected, but the information was not encrypted, Thomas said.

I find this quite interesting because there are two possible conspiracies here.
#1 - It was intentionally misplaced so that the truth behind the symptoms and effects on the victims can be known.
#2 - And attempt by BP to try and minimize the actual amount of money they need to pay out by "losing" all the victims valid data. Probably requiring extensive resubmitting and testing.

I have to wonder how many more deaths needs to be caused by BP before people start camping on politician door steps to have BP closed.

Beyond a joke.

By the way, why would BP require to have someones credit card information for an insurance claim?

I have long thought that the leak at BP was not caused by some faulty preventer or a freak act of nature. I found a article that suggests the leak was the result of a terrorist attack on the platform: check out this link and formulate your own opinion, but I strongly think the oil leak was not an accident. When it comes to our government, I only have two words for, PLAUSIBLE DENI-ABILITY. Wouldn't be the first time something was covered up.

hubpages.com...

and if by some chance you are wandering if the rig was attacked, then why would the USA
retaliate if it was an accident. check this article out.
