Diplomats are weighing in on the possibility of a military strike on Iran, they believe that an attack on their nuclear infrastructure would only result in Iran going "underground" as Iraq did after Israel bombed a reactor in 1981. Iran's program is a major headache right now but it is refreshing to see this kind of debate and hopefully a diplomatic solution can be used to solve this crisis without having to use force.

VIENNA, Austria (Reuters) - A military strike on Iranian atomic facilities would delay but not destroy the development of any nuclear weapons program, diplomats and analysts said.

"Military action is not the answer," said a senior international diplomat involved in the investigation of Iran's nuclear plans.

"It would only push them underground, like in Iraq," said the diplomat, who declined to be named.

Israel has hinted it could use airstrikes to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities, which it and Washington believe are part of an attempt to acquire atomic weapons under cover of a civilian nuclear power program.

Iran is next. Military will be our only option. We are out of options now. Timing and method?, that is the question. If we went in to Iran when they took our Embassy, we would not have this Islamic facist problem. The sword is all that they will understand. I wish there would be another way, but I think not. To do nothing will be playing into their hands and allow them to hold a sword above our necks.
