China enacts laws to control missile technology exports.

China said Wednesday it has fully enacted regulations to control exports of nuclear, biological, chemical and missile technologies as it vowed to work with the United States on non-proliferation. Why would the Chinese be so eager to help the US control nuclear and biological exports?

China said Wednesday it has fully enacted regulations to control exports of nuclear, biological, chemical and missile technologies as it vowed to work with the United States on non-proliferation.
"China has formulated and enacted a number of laws and regulations, which form a complete system for export controls on nuclear, biological, chemical, missile and other sensitive items and technologies," said Vice-Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui.

Well China has enemies to. It doesn't do anybody any good if a couple of terrorist wackos get a hold of WMDs. Plus fallout can always effect China even if its not hit directly.

My guess would be that the US is putting political pressure on China.

Do you guys actually believe that China will abide by its own laws if it sees a benefit in NOT following them? Some people on here are SO INCREDIBLY naive!

Now really China has enemies, such as Taiwan, who probably see China as big a target as the US. And considering Chinese security probably isn't as tight as US securtiy Chinas also an easy target. So by keeping WMDs out of the hands of their enemies China does benefit.

I think Cd hit it right on the head china might want to keep future enemies such as Taiwan form getting WMD's no look a this Taiwan wants to by military weapons form the US incase of war with china but if Taiwan wanted nuclear or biological weapons to defeat china it would be harder for them to get these weapons if there are tougher laws.
