You bring up two bombs that saved the allies an invasion of Japan: Yanks, Aussies, Brits, New Zealanders and Canadians, that would have resulted millions more allied and Japanese dead; what about the firebombings of Germany by the RAF? In some cases, 50,000 dead per city?

What about Churchill sacrificing the British village of Coventry so as to cover up the fact Enigma had been broken from the Germans?

Actually there was a similar situation back in the 80s. I'm not sure how old you are but when Mount St Helen blew it was all over the news over in the UK that because of the eruption the UK could expect another couple of years of bad weather, meanwhile people here had died and were still dealing with the volcanic fallout.
