Guess who still gets paid if the government shuts down? Surprise, surprise: members of Congress. A shutdown would halt pay for thousands of government workers, including congressional staff.

If you're referring to public sectors employees who are demonstrating, I am pretty sure that the demonstrators are probably using their sick leave.
To get fired for standing up to preserve your job would be unjust and unfair.
To read your post, one would conclude that you are a multi-millionaire corporate type who thinks your employees are nothing but interchangeable slaves who can be fired for any excuse or whim you might have.
