America's ability to shape the world this century will depend on the quality of its leaders. Yet the nation is producing too few future leaders who combine substantive depth with international experience and outlook.

A little anti-American are we?

The paper is actually an insightful look into the future of international leadership. You see, in the United States we are actually interested in improving ourselves and often commission such think-tanks as Rand to do these studies and offer recommendations. The paper in no way shape or form condemns our current leadership, it merely points out how we can maintain our edge in the future.

No need to get all worked up about it though. Perhaps YOUR government might benefit from a little improvement

Not at all, there is no anti-American sentiment in my post, maybe a little poke at the current administration, but then they deserve that much at least.

Agreed, we all need improvement, especially in light of recent events.

The Butler report is out tomorrow (14th July), and it shows that the intelligence for WMD in Iraq was wrong; apparently it points the finger at the intelligence processes and not the people who made the decisions.
They are attemping to keep the integrity of the system intact.

In all fairness, we need a paper headed:
U.K. Needs to Reduce Arse-Kissing Skills of Future Leaders.
