I thought I would try and lighten the mood a bit from the bird frenzy with a short story I have written. So I hope you all take a moment to read through it and give me some honest feedback. I have been writing for a few years off and on and wish to get serious about but can't seem to find the right story that will exceed more then a page or two. So here is one of my quickies. Let me know what you think

Madness

The clouds gathered threateningly in the sky above. Michael felt a chill go down his spine, and the thunder roll across the sky. As if God himself were running from one side of heaven to the other. He slowly made his way to the darkened house. A place he had called home for only a couple of weeks now.

There was something about the house he didn't like but he wasn't sure what it was. He pulled out his keys and opened the door, and entered the expansive living room. The shadows from the dark cast ghostly images on the walls. He decided it was time to turn on the lights.

"What's this!" He exclaimed out loud even before he realized he spoke. The lights weren't working this was not good. He didn't like this house already and now with no light he liked it even less. He decided the best thing to do was to go to bed early and he would feel safer.

He headed to his bedroom where he had just finished setting everything up the way he liked it. He noted that his books were still on the floor by the bookshelf. He did need to put those up soon. He just wasn't sure when he would have the time.

"#" He screamed out again before he realized he had spoken out loud. What was that noise he thought to himself? It was just his imagination playing tricks with his mind. He knew that there was no such things as ghosts or ghouls. He just didn't like loud noises in the dark that was all.

He slowly descended the stairs to his living room again. The noise had sounded as if it had come from the TV room. He knew that it was just his imagination. So he went into the room and looked around. While he was standing there looking through the shadows for a mouse or even a stray that had gotten into the house. The TV came on without warning.

His heart was pounding as he looked at the TV. How could the TV come on if the power was out he thought to himself. He went to test the lights and as soon as he flicked the switch the TV was off again. It was in his head he thought. He was tired and hadn't slept well the night before. Ok back to bed he thought. As he left the room the TV came back on.

He paused in his steps, "WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!!!! I KNOW SOMEONE IS IN THIS HOUSE AND I AM TIRED OF THESE GAMES!" He screamed as loud as he could. The TV went off.. Good he thought its about time someone listened around here, and he began working his way back up the stairs.

He couldn't believe all the bother he was getting. He had just dealt with the biggest of them all last night. When he finally rid himself of his father. That man was no good and had a cold dark heart. He was sure that if there was anyone that was the spawn of Satan it was his father himself. The things that had been done in the past the was sick of it all, and forced has father out of his life.

That had been the night before. This was supposed to be the night to relax after all the fighting and fussing of the night before. He laid down in his bed as he thought about how much more peaceful things were going to be now. He had made the right choice. There couldn't have been a better choice in the world to make.

His eyes had just started to close when he heard a blood curdling scream echo through the house. His eyes jumped open like to rabbits jumping out of the bushes when you were about to pick the berries. He was on his feet in no time heading for his dad's room. He couldn't believe the racket and the noise that was echoing through the house right now.

First there was the TV. Now there was screaming, banging, and a horrible wet sound that he couldn't even begin to imagine what that was. He slammed the door open to his dads room. What he saw was enough to make him turn ghostly pale, and before he knew the world went dark.

He slowly opened his eyes, and realized that he had to look again. It couldn't have been real. He began to examine the room. The blood the gore. It was horrible. There was blood in even places he couldn't imagine there was blood. He ran downstairs and rang the police. "Help, Help you have to help there has been a murder please come quickly!!!" He cried in near hysterics.

It was six months later, and Michael was still in the hospital. The Doctor told the DA, "He will never be able to stand trial for this. He had obviously no control of himself when he committed that horrific act. I fear we may never know all that happened."

Michael couldn't believe his ears they couldn't think he had done this? He could never be so cold so brutal and so evil as to do what he saw that night. He had to explain to them how it had been. How it wasn't his fault. It wasn't his fault that his dad wouldn't shut up and let him sleep. It wasn't his fault that his dad had done all those horrible things to him. It wasn't his fault that his father had pushed and pushed him that night.

"Daddy knew what he was doing, He wanted me to do it. God told me it was the right thing to do. He was never a good man he was evil. I did no wrong I killed a demon a demon sent to earth by Satan himself. I was doing gods work it was the christian thing to do. You can't blame for that!" Michael cried out to the doctor and the DA. They gave him a look of horror and Michael began to laugh. They saw he was right they knew he wasn't crazy. They had seen the devil himself that night at the house. They knew he was real.

Wait he thought they can't think its me. I'm not evil......

Cool story. When the TV started turning itself on; LAWL! It reminded me of Paranormal Activity for some reason...

But seriously, I thought it was good
