Sudan's President Bashir 'stole billions'

www.bbc.co.uk

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir has been accused of siphoning off up to $9bn of his country's funds and placing it in foreign accounts, according to leaked US diplomatic cables.

Diplomats quoted the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) as saying that much of the money may be stashed in London banks.

The allegations released by the Wikileaks website have been published by the Guardian newspaper.

Sudan has denied the claims.

This would be interesting if it proves to be true. The embezzlement can be added to the nations history including the genocide in the Darfur region. The information first appeared in wiki leeks. I do hope most people will not take information coming from wiki leeks at face value. The article goes on to say that the money is partly in banks in England, who have denied having accounts in the Sudanese Presidents name.

Only $9Billion? Pfffft..bloody amateurs!

That pales into insignificance against Bernie Madoff and others of his ilk. Hell, even the big banks have most likely cooked the books to hide the whereabouts of large amounts of "off the books" money. Not to mention the profits made from laundering hundreds of Billions of dollars in drug profits.

But yes...it's bad, and the US should invade immediately to bring him to justice in that international court they ignore when applied to Americans or Israelis.

Yet again another totally meaningless and insignificant cable.
Some people are only happy when they start releasing reptilian anal probing guides or something
