Using dark matter as a means for propulsion

I had an idea the other day. Would it ever be possible to excite dark matter and use it to propel spacecraft?

I remember reading that dark matter is thought to have properties like the exotic matter needed to create Alcubierre's version of the warp drive, so couldn't we just dark matter instead? If we could manipulate the vacuum of space somehow, perhaps that would enable us to achieve it.

Would the use of dark matter reduce the enormous energy required for warp drive (consumption of energy equal to the mass of the planet Jupiter)? If it does, then how much reduction?

When we know what dark matter is, we will be better able to answer that question.
